The Oilers still haven't had more chances in a game than they had in game 1, where Bob stopped everything. Even their 8-1 win they put up fewer HDCF.

Maybe Bob just emptied the tank in those first 3 games, idk.

Finals appearances won't mean a thing for whether Bobrovsky makes it into the HHOF. He needs to actually win a cup.

What's good for him though is that I think the Panthers are the favorite at this point.
Finals mean nothing if you are giving up 20 goals in 3 the games, getting pulled and choke away a 3 game lead. This Final will be a negative if he loses tomorrow.

Just like this series will cement McDavid's legacy if the Oilers can win it, I also think it will cement Bobrovsky's legacy as a loser if he blows this series. I think this would be an absolute black eye on his career, and anytime he's brought up after his career for a potential HOF vote, all people will think was "wasn't he the goalie who choked away a 3-0 lead in the cup finals?".

Better goalies haven't made the HHOF. Unless they start judging goalies differently he won´t make it.
Barrasso, Mike Vernon getting in seem to show an openness to not limit it to the Luongo-Lundvist-Belfour and above type anymore for modern goaltender, specially if they won the cup. Cujo could get in now.

4 goaltender got in the last 2 years, is it not as strict than the only Billy Smith (1993), Fuhr(2003), Roy (2006), Belfour (2011), Hasek(2014), Vachon (2016 had to wait 31 years), Brodeur (2018), where it felt until 2022 a bit legend only, better have been an hart finalist or Smythe winner....

Don't see Bob as HOF goalie. Too much of his career has been an also ran. But he now has a cup, so he will be marketed as greatest ever. That is the way it goes down now..

In all likelihood he will move into the top-10 all time in goalie wins next year. Pretty good chance he passes Lundqvist in wins with the next 2 seasons remaining on his contract and could potentially pass Belfour/Luongo and maybe even crack 500 wins if he signs a new contract and plays 2 more years after that (although 500 wins would seem like it would take a 5th season).

This assumes playing on a good team, in a starter or 1B role and little to no trouble with injuries.
