Sergei Bobrovsky for the third Vezina ?

If he keeps up his 2024 play, he has a shot. The save percentage isn't helping at this point. It's not bad, just not a Jack Edwards meme great.

Bob definitely has a chance to catch Hellebuyck. Personally I hope so because I like Bob's style hell of a lot more.

He’s definitely emerged as a finalist, quite possibly the runner up.

It’s Hellebuyck’s to lose at this point though.

Always like to see him do well.

It's going to be interesting down the stretch between a few of these goalies. Helle had it locked up for awhile there but it's going to get tight from here on out. One bad game from anyone can take them out of the running quickly. Demko was right there but a few bad games by Van and he's dropping lower. Looking like a 3 horse race still though.

Helle
44GP - 29 wins - .924 SV% - 2.25 GAA - 26.9 GSAA - 10.3 GPS - 3 shutouts

Bob
44GP - 30 wins - .918 SV% - 2.30 GAA - 17.3 GSAA - 8.7 GPS - 4 shutouts

Demko
46GP - 31 wins - .914 SV% - 2.55 GAA - 14.6 GSAA - 9.4 GPS - 5 shutouts

Would be cool to see a third Vezina win 12 years separated between the first and third. Doubt it though, unless Helley falls off a cliff.

As of today, Helle would win, with Bob finishing in 2nd.

If he wins a 3rd Vezina - he's essentially bought himself a guaranteed ticket into the Hallf of Fame. Would be interesting to see.

He'll be a nominee

'Nominee' means you can only vote for those who are nominated. The Academy Award for Best picture has 'nominees'. The Vezina trophy in the NHL does not.

If a voter wanted to put Yaniv Perets #1 on their ballot - they can. They would probably have their voting rights recinded the following year, but either way - there are no nominees for this award. The NHL simply mentions who finished top-3 in voting as a way to create suspense and discussion.

That said - there is an award in the NHL where there are true nominees though. Each team submits 1 player, and the winner is selected from that bunch. I believe it's the Masterton trophy, but I could be mistaken as I'm not 100% sure.

Bob looks like a pretty surefire finalist, but there's no argument for picking him over Hellebuyck.

The previous four Vezina winners have lead the league in GSAx per 60, which is the single best way of measuring goaltender performance. No other starter in the league is anywhere near Hellebuyck in that category (Bob is 3rd after him and Markström), so I'd assume this is going to be a landslide win for Connor.

It's Hellebuyck's to lose, the guy has been stellar and deserves it, IMO.

Bob and Demko are fighting for the runner up in that race.

yeah i'd honestly give it to him, but the NHL will instead gift it to Adin Hill
