One of the highest career save percentages of active goalies but he's getting old.

Last year his goals saved above expected was 0.0 so he was precisely league average.

2020-21 GSAE was -8.8 he was bad.
2019-20 GSAE was 8.3 third in the league he was good.

Could be a decent signing for the money.

Lots of Vancouver fans last season were saying he’s washed up. Hope he still has something in the tank. Domingue is really good insurance though.

1 year contract is very good. With the NYR so close to the cap, around $1m would have been nicer, but NYC being an expensive place, oh well.

Hoping he only starts 20-22 games this year to manage Igor's minutes (and of course if there's any injury) and preferably against non-Conference teams on the road.

Solid back-up can give you 20-25 games and more importantly win them, also Dominque for insurance. For Igor’s sake limit him to 55 games, too much wear and tear on his hips and knees with the ridiculous workload. Like to see him in your nets for at least 10 years!

I ain't kidding tho

Really savvy the way Drury managed the backup situation. Moving G for picks (one being Bryce McConnell-Barker) and then signing a better fit for less money is really well done.

I will add that adding Domingue is an upgrade on Kinkaid, and good insurance if Shesty or Halak (who is older) need to miss some time. Had no interest in him as a backup, but to have a number 3 who can at least look competent in a playoff series is a huge luxury. Also they can avoid overwhelming Garand (the future #2) in Hartford.
