Seravalli is toxic.
EP was given a shit role imo. Not having him out 3on3 while not putting him with Nylander was a mistake.

Seravelli has always hated on EP and said he wasn't really injured when clearly he was.

Every forward line looked like crap from Sweden, that's on coaching.

Well, if Seravelli is indeed "calling out" Pettersson, then he is dumber than he looks with his Gumby paint brush hairdo.

I'm not saying EP40 DOESN'T deserve criticism for being paid like a superstar but performing like a marginal NHL'er, but whatever ails Pettersson (whether physical or mental), has been going on for quite some time already this season, so expecting him to suddenly 'turn it on' for Four Nations is ridiculous.

It should be, and IS, more concerning for the Vancouver Canucks that EP40 isn't showing up for THEM rather than the Four Nations.

If brush head were to sit there and say something simple like "Team Sweden didn't have any contributions from Elias Pettersson", then ok....he'd still be Captain Obvious with a soft tipped head, but at least it isn't some grandiose, "look at me, I am super journalist" posing at "calling out a superstar that needs to be called out, gosh-darn-it-all, and click my link for more".

This guy seems to be about as non-news as an Eklund trade rumor....

I'm loving the usual suspects being complete non-factors here again in this tournament. EP, Matthews, Marner (completley invisible besides the shift he scored in OT)
Gotta get those leafs involved in the conversation

It's something newsworthy, for sure. Calling someone out is getting into a different realm. I saw the thread title and thought he would be dunking on the player.
I guess that's fair. He wasn't really dunking but the tweet felt like a specific call-out in my opinion, given the recent chatter around EP's play.

Pettersson has been fighting it, of late, yes. But geez, this board is hard on him!!

The guy had played basically 5 full seasons before (plus a 26-game 2020-21 season), and all 5 of those past full seasons have been great. He's probably fighting some injury and there has been locker-room friction (presumably just resolved) in Van.

We have people writing him off as finished at age 26 because of 49 so-so games this season and three games in a novelty-ish tournament.

You know, players may have reasons for having a 'down' season or short period, mid-career. It doesn't mean their career is over, or even that they've already peaked. See:
- Mark Messier 1984-85
- Steve Yzerman 1985-86
- Luc Robitaille 1995-96 to 1997-98
- Mike Modano 2003-04
- Alex Ovechkin 2011-12
Etc.

Everyone chill. Give the guy a chance....

Could simply be this, also he had a knee injury last season, didn't train properly in the summer and it shows, really embarrassing himself out there, hopefully he takes it to heart and bulks up in the summer.

I don't understand this because that would explain a poor start to the season, but if your conditioning isn't there by game 57? Not being able to train in the summer doesn't mean shit when you've played every game and you're over halfway done the season. It's a grueling schedule and you will get in shape whether you like it or not. Something wrong with peterson on a deeper level. He just seems slow and quiet compared to his 20 year old self.

...must have channelled his Inner Kucherov and thought it was just an All Star game... :biglaugh:
Actually i am pretty sure he watched Kucherov very closely at 2024 ASG and figured out that is how he is going to win an Art Ross (Kuch was leading the race).

Because since that break he has been imitating that Kuch performance on every game he has attended to.

Did Frank also say something about Crosby? I saw side by side pictures of them together all over social media this week than weren't flattering to the former.
