Batherson is still a disaster, and can't fathom why he was on the ice in the last minute of the game.

Forbserg is giving us a chance to put this away, really hope the team keeps up the pressure and puts away the Yotes in their godawful "stadium"
The announcers keep telling us so many nice things about it.

Chabot terrible again this game.
To be fair, he got hit into the boards and the opposing forward who did the hit then skated toward the net with Chabot following.

Once again, a defenseman with time to get the puck out does something stupid, turns over the puck and fishes out of the back of the net. Maybe instead of a coach we need some sort of surgeon behind the bench to help these guys get their f***ing heads out of their asses?
Torts and Sutter would have a chat with them and it would either stop or they would be watching the game from the bench or press box.

Another big hit from 45
He comes to play every game. No flybys. No stupidity. I would make room on my team for him.

Wasn't pretty but we will take it!

The parity in the NHL is crazy, any team can beat any team on any given night. Even the bottom feeders.
No, there is not parity throughout all the teams in the league. Some are definitely better than others. Its why some teams make the playoffs year after year and others do not.

Much better job from the bottom 6 in this game. True also for the 3rd defensive pairing.
I think the bottom 6 has played to the level we should expect for a quite a few games . That level may not be ideal but they generally do not hurt us defensively and with hard work and limited talent typically are on the right side of the corsi ledger .,, they just have close to no finish.
Their lack of scoring gets a lot of attention but that is a combination of roster construction , injuries and slotting. When the top 6 is riddled with double digit minuses .. I am not pointing at the bottom 6 for under producing especially with their current make up.

Tough schedule coming up. It was integral we got more wins through the first 5 of the new year instead we came out with duds and a dud against the wings right before.

Starting to really wonder what Chabots strengths are. He’s an effortless skater but that’s turned into constantly skating at one speed.

He handles the puck like a grenade it’s constantly bobbling. His passes are terrible his shot may be one of the worst shots I’ve seen at this level. He’s not physical. Lacks intensity. He’s not “quick”. His defence in itself isn’t terrible
He needs a real coach to get the best out of him; not one that tires him out by playing too many minutes.

I was more nervous than I should have been in that game, but we got it done.

I still don’t know how Kelly got the extra 2 minutes after getting tackled by two players with one hitting him while he was essentially defenceless and not able to fight back. Unless something happened the cameras did not pick up, the mother of all make up calls??? But to make up for what?

Stü has been relatively contained offensively since his hatty. Hope we see some more of his trademark magic next game.

TBF I didn't watch the previous two games. And I likely won't be able to watch the next one either (SN1).

It was a make up call. The slash was the tap on the pads. I also thought maybe he slashed someone after the play, but nope.

Yeah, slash, okay, but wouldn’t have been called if not for the scrum (actually tackle) that meant the ref was forced at assess the roughing penalty on the yotes player.

How Parker got a roughing penalty on top is perplexing. And aren’t make up calls (that don’t happen lol) supposed to make up for previous soft calls?

oh well. It didn’t change the game in the end, but it could have.

Game management more than makeup. The heat was turning up and it was getting chippy. Kelly started the chippyness even if it's not something that would normally get called, and the refs chose one team to give an extra two to ensure both teams knew it could cost them if they kept the antics up.

On another note, is there any word on a fine or suspension to Keller yet?

Edit:. Yep

I use Onhockey for SN1 games. My adblock and McAfee are at work .. but there are a couple consistently clean links .. I use Sawlive.. their stream is usually not too far behind. No windows open on play/pause or volume on/off

Oh, it was definitely game management. I didn't associate the phrase "make-up call" to mean a legitimate penalty. It was BS.

1. Ottawa played a good game last night & outshot them by a ton even though this coach supposedly has no system. Whatever he has seemed to have worked last night.
2. People seem angry on the board today, shouldn't we all be happy about a win?
3. Tkachuk 41 pts in 41 games PPG pace.
4. One pt behind Buff & Flor & two pts behind Detroit, that's good right?
5. The next 2 weeks are not going to be easy, they will need some puck luck.

Yeah I know, but my problem is that I can't watch these games live these days (bad sleep schedule), so I rely on PVRing these games instead. Maybe if there's a way to catch these streams even after the game is over I would use them.

I thought head shots were to be taken seriously. Guess not now. Apparently a Crosscheck to the neck and chin area is not the "head". The Department of Player Safety screws up again.

I think the max fine is based on the action, the suspensions tend to be based on injury caused.

For what it’s worth…

Yes it seems that suspensions occur when there is an injury. I think it should be for the transgression whether an injury occurs or not.
