If Greig played like he did tonight every game, no one would ask what he brings. Not just because of the assists either, he was legitimately good. That 3 minute possession time we had in the 2nd was largely initiated by him and Pinto.

The “problem” is Greig doesn’t play like this every night. But it is a strange time to ask what he brings because I thought the game made it clear what he brings. He just has to learn to do it more consistently.
He doesn't play like this every game because he's a center that playing on the wing.

I find he's really inconsistent on the wing, but when he's playing center, he's much more consistently effective.

I don't understand how this wasn't known. mind boggling.
Macklin lived for some time in the US. His dad Rick is the director of sports medicine and performance for the Golden State Warriors. Macklin got to watch firsthand the Warriors dynasty unfold and has said he learned personally from Steph Curry and the whole team on how to train to be a winner.

The team congratulated him on his 1st overall draft selection last year. Coincidentally Macklin got drafted to San Jose which is in the bay area right next to Oakland and San Francisco.

He was a centre for the last bunch of games, and he played better as a winger tonight.

I think Greig just struggles when he plays higher up the line-up. He’s generally solid on the third or fourth lines but when he’s given top 6 time he just can’t it done consistently.

Any good he could bring is undone by bad penalty.

Also one of his assists was on the f***ing stutzle goal lol

yes, knew much that too. Probably heard about it when he played for Canada at the 2024 World Juniors.

Fun game at the rink! Scored a Jake bobblehead, looked for the guy in a Ceci jersey but clearly was a no-show, partook in the booing of the US anthem, cheered for the Hamburglar tribute (did you see the hamburger that was thrown on the ice and slid all the way to him, which he picked up?), had a couple of tallboys, worried after the slow start, worried when we were behind 2-1, cheered the fluke Stutzle goal, panicked at every Hamonic shift, didn't catch any of the hotdogs falling from the sky, booed the refs for missing the cross-check to Sanderson's neck (hope he's ok, any update?), cheered for the win and for Stutzle's post-game interview.

Honorable mention goes to David Perron. The guy needs goals. Poor guy, he has gone through a lot this year. I keep forgetting, this guy is always good for 20 goals a year. Once he starts chipping in, this would help the guys put more pucks in the net.

You seem to think he's American.

Apparently he doesn't think so.

How impressive is Celebrini.. He's the next one right now. He's our new Crosby
That play where he out muscled Sanderson to turn the corner on him and attack the net was something.

Sharks prospect pool is widely ranked as the best in the NHL.. Currently best odds to pick 1OA in 2025.. and should get an absolute stud at 1 or 2.

I was there too with my son, he is finally catching some of that Sens fever.

Ullmark didn’t look his best, but he made some key saves in the first period when the team started very slow. They really woke up in the 2nd and won a very important game. As Brady says, every game is a playoff game now.

David Perron deserved that goal, he was working every shift and playing the best game he has played in Sens jersey. Him contributing offensively is a key part of Staios gamble in signing him for two years.

I think everyone on the ice knows Giroux will look to make a pass, OG needs to shoot a bit more. Still a very good player.

Pinto played a helluva game, Brady started slow then finished in typical Brady fashion.

Stutzle was fire.

Overall, a fun game to watch, with a very vested CTC crowd which deserves playoff hockey this spring.

Onto the next win, GO SENS GO!

I thought Ullmark was great. The first goal was a deflection off Sandersons skate, hard to blame him there, the third was a breakdown on a PP because of a missed call talking Sanderson out.

The only questionable goal was the second one, and I think it may have deflected off Greigs stick. Still likely savable but not a bad goal if it was deflected,

I think that 2nd goal was a double deflection

Cannot stress this enough, Celebrini's willingness to go into dirty areas and end up succeeding because of his strength is elite. When he fills out his frame he's going to hit a whole other gear. Glad he's in the west

Sens putting up five goals last night is promising, now if they can reduce their goals against as they were earlier in the season that would help too. Hopefully Ullmark is slowly returning to form at the right time.
