If so, I have more concerns about the coaching.

Forsberg wasn't bad last game but I would be concerned about any PTSD from all the goals coming off of bad puck management.

There is no right answer about who to start. Merilainen has looked solid given the context, but to win the job he has to outright be better than Forsberg. Even with Forsberg being up and down this season, Merilainen has not been the undisputed better goalie yet.

The boys coming in hot to the CTC in their new ride. But given this is a game everyone expects them to lose, I’ll guess a 4-1 dominant win. The one goal against will surely be five hole.

Hopefully they come in hot in Pittsburgh’s arena as well.

If they don't come in hot, and they lay another egg, I don't see how they don't make a big trade. Win tonight, and they are a point away from a wild card spot with a game in hand. Lose, especially in the way they did against Buffalo, and a lot of the questions about this core are going to be further amplified.

If you factor in the flu and they were on the road and playing top teams I’m not super concerned. Forsberg makes me nervous, and Merilinen has been solid but the skaters I think will deliver.

They are due for a good game and some breaks. I’ll say easy vsPitt today, Ottawa still has a burning desire to win and we’ll see that come together today
