Winning was more fun, but 6/8 points for the first leg of this 9 game stretch is pretty pretty pretty good

Despite very lopsided PP opportunities we were in it. it feels like we missed 2-3 sure goals, we lost Ullmark, this game could have went the other way or to OT. Against a team that is the class of the league right now and normally owns us.

The real test will be the first two games after Christmas… can we beat one of Min or Win?

Merry Christmas everyone

Norris and Batherson have to be better. Particularly Norris. Have to be. 3rd and 4th lines have been better in this winning streak and that can't fly.

Kleven also struggled a bit and Sanderson wasn't as good as last game. Therefore that means Hamonic's mistakes show in the worst way.

Rest of the team played very good. Hamonic is healthy scratch on a team near us in the standing or number 6 defender. We are literally losing out on an effective RD AND Sanderson's ability being suppressed because of having to cover for Hamonic.
I feel like Norris hasn’t been bad. Maybe he could score more but at least he’s been really reliable defensively and outstanding on the PK. He is contributing in different ways.

Kyle Palmieri (RW) - Expiring contract 24pts in 34 games. Age 33.
Jan Rutta (RD) - Expiring contract, 5pts in 34 games. Age 34. 6'3 205lbs
I would take Rutta. We need more Czechs!
No but seriously I’ve always liked his game. Good steady player.

CF% Sens 64.71 Oilers 35.29
HDCF% Sens 30 Oilers 70
SCF% Sens 50 Oilers 50

We definitely hung with them for the most part. Be nice to see more HDCs
I think we did a good job on McDrai at 5v5 we won the ice with them on at 5v5
McDavid CF% 38.1
Draisaitl CF% 21.74

Levi was as good as we can expect. Nothing egregious with a couple great saves

Not surprised at the outcome of this game with Perron, Amadio, Zub, Forsberg and Ullmark out at the tail-end of a 4 game swing on the road.

The week off should do good to the team mentally and physically. Hopefully that’ll solve some bumps and bruises and it would be great to have some bodies back here… Starting to look extremely thin at all positions.
Our next three opponents will be Jets, Wild & Stars.

Norris has been playing like a 4 million dollar center.

Jan Rutta (RD) - Expiring contract, 5pts in 34 games. Age 34. 6'3 205lbs

Those would be terrific gets. I was big on Rutta 2 years ago.

Palmieri = $5 m
Ruuta = $2.75 m

Even if Perron’s $4m went on to LTIR, it wouldn’t be enough.

I agree with most people that Levi looked fine and like he could be a backup that could hopefully play 30-35 games to Ullmark's ~50.

Back tightness scares me. It could be nothing or it could be a lingering concern with Ullmark. Also a reason to be a little concerned about Stutzle and all that tape on his back and the slow down in his play recently. Back issues can linger and sometimes degenerate into something you need to manage for the rest of your life.

Team need to find a two way top 9 winger and shutdown RD
A top "9" winger is not what we need (which to me means a third liner).

We have too many bottom 6 forwards: Pinto, Greig, Amadio, Perron, Giroux, Gregor, Gaudette.

We need TWO top "6" forwards to add to: Tkachuk, Stuitzle, Norris, Batherson.

Maybe Pinto becomes one of those top "6" forwards; I don't see any of the others getting there.

Would be nice to have one offensively skilled D to play in the top 4 to create more offence at ES (i.e., creating a 4-player attack).

What geniuses came up with a travel plan to have the sens yo-yo between pacific and mountain time zones for 4 games? Not surprised they didn’t have much in the tank playing less than 24 hours earlier in pacific time zone. Even with chartered air, that’s gotta be tiring especially with 4th game this week

Rest up boys. You deserve it
Glad I’m not the only one wondering about the absurdity behind this plan
