thankfully they are not out of the playoff race yet thanks largely to the Bruins being terrible but it’s pretty clear that this core group of players together just doesn’t have it. They can’t rebuild/retool because they need to end the playoff drought asap. They need to shake things up with a lateral move. Maybe a 1 for 1 trade that provides better roster construction. Most of the chatter seems to be around Tkachuk getting traded. Let’s see some proposals

What’s going on with Pinto this year? Love his game and the trajectory he was on (minus suspension) but it seems he’s just run into a brick wall this year despite getting good minutes. One of the more disappointing players in the league for me…

I'm guessing the following are untouchable due to their skill, sure, but also marketability and being the face(s) of the franchise in the eyes of new ownership as they transition to the DT core (it won't be a quick process): Stutzle, Tkachuk and Sanderson. To a lesser degree, Batherson too, simply due to his contract - hard to find his level of skill at that price point.

I think it could be Norris or Chabot.

Norris simply due to injury history and the financial commitments made to him. Excluding this year, in the past four seasons the total GP's per season were: 50, 8, 66, and 56. When you take the contract into consideration, I could see him viewed as a risk from a business perspective because of this alone. But let's be honest - he's good and young, and new ownership does not seem as concerned about this as the previous owner. I could see him being moved but only for a legitimately good deal that makes sense for the Sens, for both now and in the future.

Chabot... I don't have a write up for him, this is more of a gut feeling.

A major 1-for-1 hockey trade would be logical. Shake up the room without committing to a rebuild of the rebuild. The offseason is more appropriate time for it, I think.

Imo Stutzle is the guy they should move. One for one for a hard to play against forward. A guy to compliment Tkatchuk. Not that this would happen, but a guy who plays like Suzuki.

Stutzle has been the least of our problems.

His speed, shiftiness and ability to create plays out of absolutely nothing has been one of the only sources of consistent offensive chances on the team.

You should try to watch him more, it's impressive.

He'll lay the body surprisingly often as well.

Batherson can go, no chance in hell they are trading Stutzle, he's been great this year.

They should have kept Chychrun and traded Chabot. Been saying it the entire time.

Pinto or Norris makes the most sense after him.

Don’t see how this helps. Chabot has been good this year.

It’s not like Chychrun has extensive experience in a winning culture either. His body language last season was arguably the worst I’ve ever seen in the NHL.

Personally I like Ottawa’s roster, what do the fans think it needs in this “shakeup”? Genuinely interested as they seem on the cusp of being either competitive or a full restart. Looking at then roster I don’t see a lot of obvious holes, perhaps the defensive depth? Is it a systems issue?
