Stützville
I say this too often, but here it is again anyway: crazy what a difference it makes when a player is playing through an injury (or recovering from one) vs playing healthy! We saw it with both Pinto and Sanderson tonight. And we're seeing the converse with Stutzle, as based on his play I bet he's going through something. Let's hope they all come back healthy after the break, including poor Amadio who was actually playing with a lot of energy tonight. Before that, still one game to go, and who knows, with Ullmark in net maybe we go to the break with the streak intact?

Congrats to Merilainen, got the job done! Nothing spectacular, but nothing stupid or deflating either. Not something you can say about Forsberg or Sogaard.

Players are going to play super hard for Coach Travis Green because it’s his old place where he didn’t get the recognition and they want respect on his name and theirs.

I’ll say Merlinen starts to give Ullmark the extra day of rest and starting in Vancouver is about as hostile and envriniwnmtn as their is in the NHL so everything after this will seem easy, and he has no pressure with this winning streak is he loses no big deal.

I’ll call a 4-4 OT game with a Sanderson OT a goal

Tuna with another perfect prediction. It’s why I’m your favorite. If you want betting advice, hit me up.

I like Steve Staios

Best G.M. We’ve ever had.

When you think about what this streak and the playoff position the culture of the team and coaching staff will do to his ability to recruit Free Agents and maybe have players waive no-trades to come to Ottawa for a chance to win with stability, new era in Sens history.

Is there any way we could play the game vs the Oilers without Travis Hamonic? Please Santa hockey?

Among 211 D-men with 200+ ES mins, this is relative stats (vs teammates), ranked from worst since it's Hamonic :

CA/60 : 4th
CF% : 12th
SA/60 : 4th
SF% : 14th
xGA/60 : 38th
xGF% : 15th

Now Chabot, ranked from the best since it's Chabot :

CA/60 : 42nd
CF% : 8th
SA/60 : 68th
SF% : 7th
xGA/60 : 72th
xGF% : 8th

I'm sure Chabot is grateful to hockey gods every night that he has played only 6% of his shifts with the Ham

Blah blah blah blah Hamonic

8-2 in the last 10, Hamonic last 5 games +2 and a big assist.

3-0 to start the road trip that will define our season and he’s on the top pair.

Hamonic is the dad that works outside all day in an Ottawa winter and when he gets home people say he has slush on his boots. Enough, learn the game of hockey

We sit in a Wildcard spot. I figure it will take 7 wins to get them in the mix for top 3 in the Atlantic. I looked at the standings, them went to Natural Stat Trick. Broke out the old calculator and did the math. Came out with 80085. That equals 7 wins. Same as before, we subtract 1 for a win, add 1 for a loss, add .5 for overtime/so loss. Let's go.
We at 6 now. Who are these guys?

Seventy-twoth in xGA/60 really stands out :sarcasm:

But to your point - I'm all for bringing up Guenette for the post Holiday road trip and affording Hamonic some extra rest.

It's not because you don't speak that langage that it is some "blah blah blah"

What is simply means is that we are getting HEAVILY dominated when he is on the ice and we are at RISK of losing hockey games. It's a glaring weakness on the team. Yes the team is getting wins and it's awesome but I personally want this to continue. Hamonic, Forsberg and scoring depth are things that we'll have to improve sooner than later.

May I remind you that the goal is to become a legit contender every season and not barely making the playoffs to get swept in the first round. 7 years of suffering has to lead to something really positive.

Yeah but regarding Chabot, it's the % that are important since offense is a pretty big part of his game, he has some of the best metrics in the league and also in relation to his teammates but he's not the best defensively by leap and bounds

Matinpalo isn't with the team currently? I think it'd be smart to try him out. Give Jensen to Sanderson to help him out, Chabot-JBD is actually pretty interesting

Sanderson - Jensen 58.6 xGF%
Chabot - Bernard-Docker 67.6 xGF%
Kleven - Matinpalo ?? xGF%

I don’t think hamonic is someone who has enough gas left at his age to be effective consistently, but I’ve been impressed with his last few games and if he keeps it up, I’ll happily eat some crow. If we don’t notice him all game, that’s perfect for his role.

Good road game from the boys and nice to see Leevi get his first win. I thought we would blow it at 2-2 but played a decent game start to finish. Vancouver are battling some demons and not at the top of their game, but going .500 on this road trip seems reasonable if we keep up this play.

6 game winning streak. Barely making the playoffs - what does that even mean? Tell that to the St Louis Blues or the L.A. Kings, tell it to the 2022 Boston Bruins.

This is what you’re talking about this morning? You’d the type of guy to go the beach and critique Dua Lipa’s bikini colour, someone could cook you a 7 course meal and you’d say there are lots of dishes.

No, not at all. Believe me, I'm the first to be very happy to witness that there is finally REAL HOPE with this team. However, if our GM is NOT looking to improve this team in the short and medium term, he has no business being there. That's things I am talking about

IF you want to keep things superficial and on the surface it is YOUR prerogative but you have to leave freedom of speech to others if they decide to put a bit of brain energy into it and are capable of analyzing and predicting outcomes.

I'll stop when we start winning Stanley Cups, and I hope they have the same mentality in the whole organization.
