What a crazy dump of snow! This was a doozie. Tried my battery blowers and I have to say, they are pretty good, but no match to the gas blowers. Its nice that you don't have gas to buy and you do not smell like gas, but the battery blower will at times shut down, go in limp mode if the machine is taking in too much snow. I am not crazy about it. At times yesterday, I was wondering why the hell I made the switch to battery.

fascinating site, you can see all sorts of data. what is clear? Nature like the end sum to be ZERO.

effectively, our yearly temperature is relatively unchanged the last 20 years.

And so, a hot June, July, August and September. Pretty much guarantees a cold, December, January, February and March.

A dry June to September, pretty much guarantees rain before and after and heavy snow.. Heavy rain in non-snow months, guarantees low snow in winter.

Ottawa winter is on a 6 year cycle. Once every 6 years, we get the winter from hell (Temperature wise only). The mid point (year 3) is coldish.

Years 2 and 3 are one of Mild and medium. With no pattern. a Harsh winter can be preceded by a mild winter and then followed by a mild. Once that occurs then a medium must be before and after the mild.

Snow is governed by rain April to November and April to November of the following year. It makes snow prediction difficult.


So the 2025-2026 winter will be... either mild or medium, temperature wise. No "real" idea of what snow will look like.
The 2026-2027 winter will be mild or medium, and opposite of what the 2025-2026 winter will be... And again, no "real" idea of what snow will look like.

The small indicator for snow. if it rains like heck, April to November, low snow in the following winter.

Heavy snow December to March, does not guarantee a dry April to November. It does make it a tad more likely.
Heavy cold December to March, does not guarantee a warm/hot summer, but make it more likely.

Mother nature is far more predictable than we assume.

Invest in electric energy stocks this summer and next. Move to gas in the winter of 2027-2028.

I was thinking of switching from my 27 inch gas snow thrower to an EGO battery powered model.

When you look under the hood today, everything is so crammed in there is no room to work. :)

There was a lot more space under the hood in the old days. I burnt my hand replacing spark plugs, points, condenser, cap, etc. and doing engine timing with a timing light. :)

I don't do that anymore.

Maybe someone with know software knowledge could answer.

So before I get anyone talking about time wasting, we had instructions of what we're allowed to use our devices for, and apparently reading articles and forums on our two 15 min breaks or on our lunch break is allowed.

So whenever I do use the laptop on my breaks to read this forum, I notice there's quite a delay.

So on the work laptop, it will show the most recent post posted 2 mins ago...no matter how many times I refresh. But if I go on my phone, that particular post was posted like 54 minutes ago, and there are 8 newer posts since.

And it doesn't update only at a delayed rate, but also in bunches.

I can refresh every minute for 20 minutes and nothing will change. Then all of a sudden on the 21st attempt, it will load up a 30 min segment of posts.

Is this a gov admin setting? Why doesn't it seem to take affect on any other website or forum because I see updates instantly on Reddit for example.

Is it a website setting? How would I change that?

Any idea what is going on? It's not the end of the world, but I'm very curious.

I've never heard of a setting where you can delay inputs for a while and release 30 min segments an hour after the fact from specific websites.

I probably won't see this comment on the work laptop until 30-60 mins from now, and it will say it was recently posted lol

My best guess would be something to do with caching elements of site pages for efficiency purposes. What browser are you using, do you have the same issue across all browsers? You could try clearing your browsing data and see it that results in you getting an updated refresh. I think holding Shift and hitting F5 will also force a full reload of all elements, so you could try that.

Huh, I did not know that,

I just opened two browsers, one logged in and the other not, and the one not logged in shows your post as the most recent post from 1 min ago, while the one that is logged in shows Jbeck's response, and both being 10 and 7 mins old respectively.

That seems to align perfectly.

My Arabic is poor, and the people of the Khaleege speak a dialect closer to the Badou, than to the Arabic spoken in the Western parts of the Arab world. And so I only understand about 50%.

The broadcast is nothing more than an ode to teh ruling families of the UAE. Nothing more than propaganda as to how noble they are. How they have done these great things. And every damn structure is named after them!

And then we see rubble in Gaza, rubble in the West bank, rubble in Lebanon, rubble in Syria. Arabs strewn throughout the world as refugees and second class citizens.

In case you Westerners are confused, its too bad you don't understand Arabic. All you have to do is tune into Dubai Sports and you would never have any questions again.

It is nice to know the sun shines out of the UAE Emir's asses.

Ditto for Qatar when you watch their media, Bahrain, Oman, Saudi and the other 10 Arab nations. Sun shining out of asses and dead Arabs.

His picture reminded me of my nieces and nephews. When I saw it,, I jumped out of my skin.. How happy would you be if you saw your nieces and nephews. And saw images of death?
