Last time I had bum wee I couldn't stand or lay down for 24 hours. Only sit. Which meant no sleep for 24 hours. Water made me puke.

Its like reverse water boarding.

Ottawa unless it becomes a disaster
So I decided to take a random trip to ST. John's Nfld with the gf, just because I've never been there. Holy ****, beer is so crazy expensive here. 50 bucks for a 24 of coors light. Just insanity. Pushing 10 bucks for a draught in most bars.

I can't work out at night anymore for some reason. Gets me too worked up(pun not intended). I try to do my training an hour after breakfast/coffee.

While on the subject, ever since I started that 100 pushups thing mixed with the "50 pull-ups" program, I've noticed significant muscle gain. Really makes a difference when you follow exercise programs properly, even after just a few weeks. I can already do many more pull-ups than I could before. :yo:

Ah, nice! I've said this before but pull ups are the best!

What is your end goal for 50 pullups? 50 in a row or broken up into sets? 50 in a row... you'd be a gorilla!!!

I'm just happy my weak ass pushups and small free weights have gotten my arms less giggly! Woo!

Well, it's called the 50 pullups program, but I believe the main goal is to get to 30-40 pullups in a row, which for me would be more than good enough!

Fifty seems like a pipedream right now, but who knows, I can already do 100+ pushups in one set.

Haha, I get ya.

I've never been into too much structure when it comes to training, but the results are undeniable. I suggest you try a similar program. If you can stick to it, you'll be amazed how quickly your body will change.

I was hungover today and had to skip the pullups, and I feel bad about it. Thinking about cutting out alcohol, or at least limiting it to a very small number of drinks/week.

I actually started doing that 100 push-ups thing that someone posted the link to in this thread. I'm in week two and my arms are jello by the end. I always just run at the gym for 4.5 miles and do nothing else so I figured should add something new and quick since I like to keep my gym time under an hour.

I'll never do anything crazy. I'm a wimpy girl! But I've been sticking to 2-3 strength training and 2-3 cardio days. Just doing simple things... can't do anything too complicated!

Welcome, it's always been that way. I think for the most part a draught is ~7.50, but there are many bars that have deals on certain days throughout the week.

It's always a treat leaving NFLD and getting beer for dirt cheap (compared to what the prices are here).

If you are on George Street I'd recommend O'Riellys or Bridie Malloy's, and Shamrocks Pub is a great spot just off George in the evenings with music, food and beers.

Are you staying DT St. John's?

Is it weird that I use a kids play ground at an arena for the monkey bars to do pull ups?

Nope, when I used to do cardio I would run past a playground and do pullups on them too.

Plus it's a good time to show off your muscles to the moms

There's a park a short bike ride away from my place that has all the different training bars. As much as I have started looking buffer, there are quite a lot of guys there built like monsters. Keeps me motivated though!

Ya, staying at an AirBNB which is only a couple minutes walk away from downtown. Happened to hit up Bridie Malloy's last night, it was good spot for sure. The live band was great.

So, yesterday spent the day exploring the old lake towns of the Bodensee and seeing their forts and churches.
Today drove over to Neuschwanstein and visited the royal castles on our way to Munich. Two nights here, so tomorrow will be wandering around the old city (we're a few blocks just outside so nice spot. Did a quick survey of the area when we got here so already found a couple cool statues and churches.

Poor Anton Yelchin. He was a terrific young actor and by all accounts a great human being.

He had an incredible range in the characters he played, and yet he could always make them so very grounded and human. Gone far too soon because of a truly freak accident.

2016 is starting to feel like Final Destination: Celebrity Edition

What a sad and tragic loss. An excellent actor on the rise. Loved him in Star Trek among other movies. :(

Seriously. It's getting really strange out there. I don't recall another year where so many big names have passed (not saying Anton was a huge name, but he was definitely on the rise).

I think it may just be a case of baby boomer celebrities getting old. I mean, it sucks to think about, but if you're 50+ and have lived a life of parties, cocaine, binge drinking and rarely exercising, you're probably not gonna last that long.

Anton was just a fluke.

Prince was still relatively young at 57.

But yes, Anton was a gigantic fluke, and it's really sad because the kid still had so many great performances left in him to give. Plus, losing anyone at 27 from a crazy freak accident is messed up whoever it is.

As far as I know I only saw Anton Yelchin in the Star Trek OS reboot. I remember laughing when he was trying to give an authorization code... Victor Victor... and the computer couldn't understand him because it came out Wictor Wictor. I didn't think I'd take to a new ST crew but he fit the part well.

Terrible way to go!

I really liked him in Charlie Bartlett and remember thinking at the time he was potentially one of the better young actors and I would watch out for his movies.
I think I liked him in everything I saw since. Alpha dog, Rudderless...I'll check out some others now.
Strange circumstances.
