I would say that Leafs fans, and I mean "LEAFS" fans are relatively speaking more knowledgable about hockey than fans of other teams. Most would have predicted or would have had a feeling regarding where this team might be trending especially given the the word play of management after tampa loss and then the off-season/UFA signigngs; cap structure etc....
This management group has gotten away with a lot of incompetence with no accountability and eventually people I guess have had enough.... I myself have not been posting as much.
I was hoping to finally catch my first full game this season tonight HNIC and what not... I will still watch hoping for a win but really don't have many expectations this season....
Dude needs to retire asapMan, Ron MacLean...
“Now” wasn’t necessary to be fair. The sportsnet hockey broadcasts are so cringe now.
Dude needs to retire asap
He's way past his expiry date.
HNIC should bring in someone else for the role.
Who could have seen that coming?!4 weeks for Murray yikes!
Ok, I'm in bar and just wondering what was that about. No sound here, so actually seriousWhat is this intro?View attachment 594469
Well I don't think people have much longer to wait honestly. We still have stars in their primes and IF the team fell short, a competent GM is being left with
1) Excellent cap structure going forward (50+M in cap space starting 2024)
2) Elite players in their primes that can be flipped for quick and easy retool
3) A prospect pool that actually has some valuable pieces. Robertson and Knies for example could fetch quite a bit in any trade or give us ELC forwards.
4) A fanbase that is ready for change so moving someone isn't going to be unpopular like it was at one point.
Personally, I am just enjoying the ride. It's been rough hockey these 2 games but it's still early. I do believe if the team plays to their potential that we can win in the playoffs after watching them last season. So I am going to cheer them on for now, and then if the result is the same it's clear there is change coming so I will join that train.
This team is in a position to return a fortune IF they decided to move on from everyone and fully rebuild. And even if they chose not to, a retool could be done aggressively. I imagine that will come down to if Matthews will sign or not after this year. If he doesn't want to sign I think he is traded for multiple firsts and top prospects and they move Marner shortly after. JT stays on and the leafs miss the playoffs for a season and Nylander is traded at the TDL. Leafs pick top 10 and have the top prospect pool in the NHL and solid depth.
Matthews has a full NMC/NTC in his last year of the contract same with Marner Unless he waives or decides to re-sign with us it will be difficult.
This post can be summed up as "We ended up with the best core this city will see in decades, but f*** it, let's age them out, skip it and start trying later"Well I don't think people have much longer to wait honestly. Oh my God……he lasted 1 game……..1 game, he Is even worse then I thought
This is feeling so good and great yes! Hockey night In Canada and all kinds of pizzas and drinks everywhere People are talking bout murray etc all over the leafs and dubas still wants to be the number Uno kahuna gm of the World. The leafs look real strong this season. Tavares is faster than ever and even muzzin looks very string with his mind blowing hitting game. Not really sure who is on the Sens anymore but Ottawa has historically been mid in all aspects - city/hockey/etc
Feeling good about this one
if ESPN or TNT was watching that intro they would be like wtf, we are so much better lmao
It's official Ron MacLean should retire. That opening made no sense at all. Also, time to put aproducer back in charge who knows what he's doing. Even my wife asked me what that was all about. I told her it was all about Sportnet. That's all it was.
