Leaf Fans, what are we going to do about Simmonds? He's not a leaf and he's also not on the Marlies.

How can this be?

I am going to be at the game tonight 'holy sheeeeeet! first live Leaf game since 93 at the Gardens watching our warriors, Wendel, Gilmour, Potvin!!! I am beyond excited to see the boys at the 'new' Scotia Bank Arena! I am also getting to drop into Brampton before the game to meet my newborn niece for the first time 'first time uncle' so such a cool day! and I got a pair of tickets, and I am taking my mom :) GO LEAFS GO!!!!!
If you happen to be sitting next to Dwayne Johnson, you might wanna bring him up to speed on a few things.

Holl was surprisingly very good in the 2nd and 3rd last game, that is the guy we need more consistently. I thought everyone else on the back end was at least decent.

I agree!

Not a not different than if he was on the roster. He wouldn't be dressing. If a forward gets hurt he probably draws in, when they come back he goes on wavers again.

Weird that they had Samsonov play against his old team last night, and Murray might play against his.

Would be a slight advantage to the other team. Shooters would know their goalie and former goalie's weaknesses.
but there is also a mental aspect, of wanting to prove one's worth.
I think it outweigh's any shooter knowledge advantage.

Engvall has been bad with coughing up the puck. He has had a few chances on 2-1’s but his play is not up to snuff. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt coming back from ankle injury and it being early in the season. A lot of players are coughing up the puck too much.

Expect to see his game pick up soon.

I hope Murray has a god solid game tonight. Hopefully Muzzin won’t be feeding passes into the slot for the opponent.

For sure that, but I think this is also the chance, early in the season, to enable team building and cohesiveness. Yes, Murray needs to be good, but, this should be a situation where his teammates step up and make sure they do everything to get him the win. Fingers crossed this happens, as the team has been loose against the Sens in recent years. Maybe its time they start taking them a bit more seriously.

I'm excited to finally watch a regular season game. I caught a few of the preseason ones but they're meaningless.

I worked nights Wednesday and Thursday, so I missed both games.

The Leafs just need to play hard and be disciplined. Too many penalties in the first 2 games from the boxscore.

A few analysts and pod casters have mentioned that the Leafs were really sloppy in the first game. Most say they were slightly better in the second game. I can't really comment, since I didn't watch either game, but.... progress?

Hoping for a big game from Matthews. That first line has to be our best line.

Go Leafs Go!

Thats about as close to the deep end as you can toss 50, no? Beach balls over the glove, old team, counter part takes W in GM2. About as much pressure as you'd want for an early season, 'what have we got in 50?' kind of game. He starts no doubt.

Sink or swim till ya swim or sink tho.

Same with Geno, as I see it.

Also. When does 91 vacate the C? And let 34 take his rightful place? I feel like JT should swallow that bullet sooner rather than later.
Mathews gets the C when he signs a long term extension. Until then…would not be a good look if they appoint him captain and he leaves. Hoping the Leafs humble the over hyped sens tonight

So Murray just left morning skate with groin discomfort :/ Samsonov likely the starter and we'll have to sign a random amateur goalie as the backup

After all the trash talking would love to put the sens 0-2 to start the year and let reality start to sink in for them.

Lets continue our good play from Thursday, and also keep cleaning up our D zone play no matter which goalie plays. The defensive play might not key in until maybe 10 or so games which isn't surprising

I think this will be an easy win but I am a bit worried about Debrincat and Stutzle blowing by the D tonight. They look beatable by speedsters so far and those 2 are elite versions, whereas habs have a bunch of bootleg players on their roster.

Mediocre opponent, but some pieces that can provide a good test to see if we can remove some of the "too slow" concerns game 1 created.

What makes this worse is the extra inconvenience of needing a goalie on the fly to dress up. Not a simple known injury and you just go and start a backup.

It's like goalie related things can't just be bad, it has to be the ultimate end of bad.
