Well hamonic in is not good but the way the forwards are playing offence we should have the puck in their zone a bit more. The way they’re playing defence I dono. With Hamonic in the forwards better be defence first

The thinking that Matinpalo or JBD could just slide into the 2nd pairing and Chabot would be fine and carry the pairing is totally incorrect.

Hamonic has provided a layer of depth the fans obviously do not appreciate, he’s had many 20 minute games and he’s played from the top pair to the bottom pair, he mentored Sanderson when 85 was a rookie, he’s breaking in Kleven, he’s coaching up Matinpalo.

To me Travis Hamonic has given us one of the best million dollar seasons in Sens history. Love this guy

He can do that as an assistant coach or member of the player development squad.

We are not fine when hamonic plays with Sanderson or on the top four.

No one think jbd can “just hop onto the second pair and we will be fine”. And no one thinks hamonic can either.

Very few 7th d men can hop onto the top 4 and no body misses a beat. Thats why they’re seventh d men

Zetterlund buried once again down on the 4th line. Green just can't fathom improving his lines while we're winning as if there's no room for improvement. Super annoying how some of these coaches only react when their team loses.

The question is...which line is playing poor enough to warrant being swapped around?

Yes Hamonic does not belong on the top pairing, but it’s better then if Matinpalo was up there with Sanderson and ruining a good young player by overwhelming him Dorion style
That's exactly what these charts are suggesting he was doing to Sanderson. He's been a warrior for us but he's legitimately been terrible

What is the alternative? having JBD and Matinpalo platooning all year? I can see Hamonic struggles at times but why dump on him when there is no better alternative? Would fans be happier if it was Matinpalo getting caved in playing 20+ minutes in the top Pairings each night instead of Hamonic?

Right Shot D depth was a big concern going into the season and I think that part of the team has held really well considering all the injuries the group has risen to the occasion and answered the bell for Ottawa. Not always pretty, but Hamonic has given heart and soul hockey every minute he’s played and that desperation is what Green needed from his team and it’s important the right veterans are there to provide it and play every game like it’s their last - and he plays decently. He makes mistakes but they are winning games and he’s battling his heart out

Auston Mathews can't put the puck in the net anymore.

Ullmark is better than Stolarz.

Ottawa's defense is better, Sanderson will definitely be the best defenceman on the ice. Last but not least the Sens are on a roll and scoring in bunches and the leafs have lost quite a few of their most recent games.

Sens win, 5-2.

This is the tricky part.

With the Cozens line and the Pinto line carrying the team of late, it would mean taking Giroux off the top line and what, putting him on the 4th?

The only guys I think that you can conceivably move down to the 4th are Greig and Amadio and I don't know if that's a benefit.

I like Perron but if he's playing with Gaudette and Highmore, I think they get caved even more.

This will be a hard fought game, I don’t see the Leafs taking the Sens lightly.

The Sens will be ready for this one. Hope Jensen is ready to go. I want us to dominate the Leafs physically and along the boards, I can see the Sens scoring a lot of goals that way, from turnovers and transitions.

Zetterlund gets his first goal in Sens uniform.

Ottawa 6 - Toronto 3.

Go Sens Go, Blow Leaves Blow!!

The only certain think about a hot streak is that it’s going to come to an end

I think the problem is that you keep equating Hamonic's play to Mantinpalo's and JBD's play. Matinpalo in particular has been very passable on the bottom pair. Hamonic has been a liability on ANY pair he's played on. He makes mistakes that can and have cost them games but they have been winning in spite of that, NOT because of him. Objectively a replacement level D would be a better option.

I think that we can all agree that this is the most important game of the season until the next one. Can't lose tonight.

Beauty about tonight’s game is if we beat the Leaves their fans will be happy because they don’t want to face Ottawa in the 1st round and lose, and if they beat us Leaves fans will be upset because it means they might have to face Ottawa in the first round. Leaves nation is nervous, the entire league feels it. It’s either the next 49 games they do 2018 Capitals when everyone kept counting them out or this team gets blown up.

Who wants some? Not Toronto. They don’t like those big mean tesms with those big guys who push and and punch and shove all the time
