No one is dethroning Marner, but I think Matthews has an amazing ability to read plays, can bat down pucks well, and is great at blocking shots, I think he could be great too.

yea thats what I thought. ideally this is jsut "pre-season" where players are just going through the motion to be seen I suppose.

Marner looks a bit quicker than last season though

Bertuzzi - Matthews - Marner looks like they will dominate... Bertuzzi already looks like he fits in well.

I think that has been a bright spot too.

I do think it is hard to look bad next to Matthews/Marner though.
