Just imagine if we can land Schaefer....what that would do for our Dcore moving forward. We'd be set on the blueline for years to come. So yes....Schaefer here in 2025, and then McKenna in 2026. I want us to suck again next season, and i think we will despite the upgrades/improvements. We'll remain bad enough to get that chance at #1.... We've earned it, we've suffered a lot these past 10 years or so(both on and off the ice)....and think about the potential of marketing the original 6 Blackhawks with a young core like that!

Then in 2026/27 spend big on a couple superstar FAs and prepair for our first crack at the post season. I know it sucks to come to the realization that next season might have to be yet another season wasted/sucking/not being relevant...but i think its the realistic path to take/expected timeline. And the more i hear about this McKenna i mean could you just imagine if we paired him with Bedard + everyone we have on D? OMG....

Its called....the passing of time. Nothing else has to happen other than just let the days go by and wait until the team is ready to contend, he'll be in his early 20's, ready to blossom into a monster. Its obvious that this sophomore season is just one of those crumble it up and throw it away and forget it ever happened type of seasons. Its not gonna be the norm. He may not be generational, he was almost certainly overhyped by those that compared him to Crosby/McDavid....but i do believe he's on the same level in terms of franchise cornerstone as Kane and Toews were.

So the solution is ride it out and wait until his 21 or 22 and take it on faith that he’ll be great?

No. I’m just not in the camp that everyone is guaranteeing he’ll be awesome. I hope he will be.

Just consider everything....his age/experience level....that will only improve from here on. He's only going to get bigger/stronger, improved both physically and mentally over time. The chances that he would show us everything he has thus far(all the positives), be as productive as he has thus far....only to then suddenly just get worse and worse and fall off and never recover....are INCREDIBLY slim. The team around him is also on course to dramatically improve. The added talent around him is another thing that will surely help. These are just basic things that even feeble minded halfwits like myself are able to comprehend. So if i can....then surely anyone else should be able to.

I feel like I haven’t noticed Bedard like really at all tonight.

I’m not worried about him yet…. But I’m getting impatient.
