  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Sulking in previous miseries are not better than the Baghdad Bob posters on here where everything is still ok. Bottomline is We have a mediocre roster trying to survive. I focus on the current
Idk, I'm just sad, man. It's been years since we've had a consistently good team. It shouldn't be like this.

This legitimately sucks.

I'm actually pining real bad for Dougie and sieges back. I think this team can survive without jack for a short portion till seasons out, but we need puck mover and a guy who can come back in and make Kovo look legit again.

My issues lie with Fitz. I don’t think he knows what it takes to build a competitive roster.

I think we have really good players but as a unit, we’re focusing on the wrong things and it’s hurting us.

As long as we don’t have any “ jerks” or dickheads on the team, I’m cool with the epic collapse and missing the playoffs / getting shit-pumped in the first round.

I don't want to ever see McLeod back on this team though. Glass maybe the guy we have, a better version of the skill we are looking at in the past.

The bottom-6 needs serious work. As you said, we have some top players. The supporting cast just isn't close at all.

Get rid of Dillon. My god he’s ass. Stop playing noesen in the top six he sucks.

Harping on that nonstop will only make it worse.

We have a .500 roster trying to make the playoffs with 11 games to go with a 3 game lead. Thats all I am focused on.

When the season/postseason does end. Then the narrative should be on why did Fitz leave this group with absolutely zero margin all season. The way this played out was entirely predictable. I sounded the alarms all season that we needed a better supporting cast in case of future injuries. The healthy team did slump in Jan-Feb. I had faith in them eventually rebounding and easily making it in. I say that was going to happen because they had a great first game against Dallas where they looked really good after the 4 nations, only the Colorado gm was bad, and then BAM. Injuries, and its been survival mode since.

This season is on Fitz

I’m confused, you’re posting as though we are not overwhelming favorites to make the playoffs still after some tough losses? I know you’re rooting for us to miss so you can finish, but we’re not there yet.

The Cup chances went to zero when Jack was done for the year. It wouldn’t matter if we had 20 more points.

I don't know man by Monday night we may be the overwhelming favorites to start falling out of the playoffs.

It was mostly fantasy prior to the Calgary game, but we just lost 2 great points easily obtainable there, and we lost another 2 tonight.

Rangers and Isles gaining points. CBJ fell off, but by the time we get to the ranger game later this week, they could be at our level.

Fitz basically lucked his way into a good team two years ago. As soon as he had to do the job of re-stocking lost or missing pieces he f***ed shit up.
I don't believe that to be true at all. His defensive choices have been all around solid ..he did Graves and Siegenthaler for 2023 and this group barring injuries isn't terribly far off with Pesce, Dillon and Kovacevic. He drafted Luke and Casey and Nemec too for good or bad ..

Cotter and Noesen adds this season were solid... Cotter has more 5v5 goals than any other winger on this team... Noesen with 19 goals and 36 points that's beyond my expectations.

Two years ago we got 99 points from Jack and 80 from Nico and 73 from Bratt....we traded a lot of pieces for Meier who was a 40 goal scorer two years ago.

This year we have 80 from Bratt, 70 from Jack, and 55 from Nico and Meier has 20 goals in 70 games ...still 11 games to go but it's pretty easy to see where the major deficits are coming from

Serious question, do you work for the team or some shit? Who the f*** mentions betting odds like this unironically about a team whose record over the last three months is the fourth worst in the league??

And there you go again, questioning the fandom of anyone that doesn’t play along with this dumbass delusional schtick. Why would I pretend that a team this obviously flawed and mediocre is actually something better just because I root for them? That kind of unrealistic optimism is not a requirement of being a fan.

I don’t care about points per se, I care about that this team isn’t even remotely close to as good as advertised, and hasn’t been for f***ing years. This team’s offense was flaccid as f*** with a fully healthy lineup. We were told by people like you that this was guaranteed to be corrected at the deadline, and you pulled the usual arrogant shit towards anyone who questioned being so confident about that. How’d that turn out? You talked down to anyone that suggested we were a top six injury away from being a bubble team, how’s that looking right now?

I could do without people who are constantly wrong about the quality of this team questioning my fandom.

I dunno...I feel like really being super upset about this season at this point is a fool's errand.

During that stretch in January / February where we were healthy and sucking with everyone heathy.....I understood trying to make sense of it or trying to correct it.

This current roster sucks. If this is the roster we iced for a full season, it has a reasonable chance at a top 3 pick, I think.

At this point, I'm just playing out the string and wondering what can be done for next season.

You forgot guys who follow the dress code as well. We need guys who follow the dress code.

Hopefully the issues with the supporting cast get adressed in the off-season.

I understand it doesn’t change anything. But it does suck. Nothing we can do about that. I’m not even excited with the prospect of this team making the playoffs. That’s how bad it’s been/is going.

Anyways, onto the next game.

Mercer was also a 50 point player and Haula had a visible pulse that year, our 4th liners legit scored a decent pace that year but yeah man Timo Meier is definitely the issue. He's your new Kovalchuk

This is where you question the core. The first two months of the season, the avalanche were icing absolute junk outside of their big three of Mack, Rant, and Makar. They still managed to be above .500 and stay in the bubble.

Then they got some guys back from injury and their GM made several good in-season moves to bolster their depth.
