You think Meier has done his job this season? Honest question. I don't. Not remotely close.

Jack and Nico did their thing well Bratt I have mixed feelings about... I really wish he had a few more goals. Palat has spent most of his time in the top 6 and I don't think he's been good...

Supporting cast just sucks...but the top end has their deficiencies too.

No that was completely off base then as it was early in the season and Keefe didn’t even have the team bought into his system yet.

Jan to now is completely a different but appropriate rant

How about the effort or heart and compete level it was not there the whole game and that has been a common thread all year....

I feel the exact same way . I feel that it’s important to make it in but I have zero faith that they make it. And if they do , they are going to get destroyed by the Canes ( or whoever we play if we slip to a WC spot )

It’s Fitz. It has to be Fitz.

1. You can Fitz and hire someone who can bring more organization discipline and accountability. At least publicly the team has a cultural issue of planting the flag prematurely.

2. I would keep Keefe and allow him to hire / fire his own assistants. If he isn’t the guy allow him to go down with his own crew.

3. Nuke the bottom 6 and lean hard certain guys to waive their no trades. Make it be known their lives will be miserable if they block a deal.

Fitz basically lucked his way into a good team two years ago. As soon as he had to do the job of re-stocking lost or missing pieces he f***ed shit up.

would love to acquire two more Glass type reclamation projects this offseason for our bottom 6.

genuinely just guys like Sharangovich, Zetterlund and/or Boqvist which is sad.

Fair enough, but I counted Noesen/Mercer there as well for us.

What's our most common fourth line combination this year? Like Bastian, Lazar, Dowling, Tatar? That's 13 goals for 4 players combined.

Small balls stuff. It's really disappointing.

The way they are collapsing for 5-7 minutes stints.

In each of the last games:
CBJ dominated the whole 3rd.
Calgary didn't dominate, but put decent pressure and we just collapsed after 50ish minutes.
Tonight 2nd period first 6-7 minutes was utter disaster, non stop on our heels

I’m confused, you’re posting as though we are not overwhelming favorites to make the playoffs still after some tough losses? I know you’re rooting for us to miss so you can finish, but we’re not there yet.

The Cup chances went to zero when Jack was done for the year. It wouldn’t matter if we had 20 more points.

I'm fine with Meier. I think he's played well overall, sometimes that's just the way it goes. The shooting luck seems to be normalizing. Jack, Nico, Bratt have been as advertised and more.

We agree about the supporting cast. The MAIN problem with this team right now.

That’s the thing though … there is no one really other than Foote . There is no shiny new toy to look forward to besides Gritsyuk and he is unable to come here until his season is over and even then I don’t think we burn a year of his ELC

Hopefully Palat can go Monday. That Palat Mercer Tatar line was actually doing well as a pseudo shutdown line. If they can get that line back together then the top 9 looks passable. We need that line so the Bratt and Nico line can get better minutes

I absolutely agree with you, and I believe they've produced plenty this year. Meier has had a tough season, overall I've liked how he's played though. That shooting luck seems to be normalizing. Nico, Jack and Bratt have produced plenty. The supporting cast doesn't contribute nearly enough imo.

I get it that it would be nice if Bratt scored more goals but the guy just broke the all-time Devils assist record …
I agree with everything else yuu said and yes it would be cool if Bratt scored more but he should be listed along with Jack and Nico as doing his job just fine this season IMO .

I'd rather see Halonen get a few more looks, or bring Wilman or someone else up here. Dowling was a good filler for awhile, but his game is only forecheck and some wheels, so he's like a cheap man's Kevin Rooney or something. he has almost no shot IQ and less hands/skill otherwise.
