It seems silly relieving someone from an important position when you don't have a replacement lined up.
First of all, we don't know who is available or who the candidates will be.

Second of all, I'm not the one making the decisions. What I say is not going to matter, I can't pick the GM.

That's on the hockey people to find a replacement.

Or they could just try to give their bozo a sixth year to go for a second playoff berth, which they didn't give to their last guy.

I have no faith the owners will fire Tom. They're the same idiots that own the 76ers and have kept their dog shit GM around for so long.

When did we have the cap space for it?
literally at the TDL with all the LTIR cap we had to use. our big trades were dumoulin and glass. that's it. we had so much space to work with yet we failed to get Cozens because we refuse to part ways with Fitz failed projects in Mercer and Nemec.

How about the first in-season move Fitz made in 23-24 was not getting a goalie, not getting other help, but getting MacDermid.

Kick in the balls that was.
MacDermid sucks, I get it, I'm not sure he really changed anything, but we were getting physically abused prior to that trade.

Team toughness was absolutely a need, and was a big part of our early season success this year.

Sounds about right.

Maybe, but his best stretch of production was as a center with Bratt and Johanssen on his wings.
Shooting percentage luck. IIRC he was under water possession wise that year (which in fairness he was a rookie). Plus I think we can see now Bratt was probably the main driver.

He really never has been great when not playing with any of the big 3.

Ah, yes, luck. Or course.

Need to see his on ice numbers with Bratt and Johanssen that season, not just his overall numbers.
