Just got back from the game. The Rock was electric, especially for a weekday game. Killing that penalty in OT was awesome. Crowd was cheering like we scored a goal. Haven’t felt that energy in a few years.

Right? It was beautiful, haven't felt energy like that in the arena on a consistent basis since the Hall playoff season

I wasn't into BR when tapes were a thing, but my jam was either Let's Go by Rancid or Hoss by Lagwagon.
I’ve always been a huge fan of Bad Religion and last saw them just fairly recently in 2019 down by me?

I’d definitely go again if they came to Jannus Landing in St. Pete, which they usually do when they do a full US tour.

I think the first time I saw them was 90-91 or so. They weren’t really all that known of on the East Coast at the time.

Where I grew up, the only real bands I got to see when I was younger was Face to Face, No Use for a Name, Chixdiggit, and Strung Out.

Coyotes 3-0 on their road trip. Could be another close one Saturday.
Playing better than their record indicates.

Another potential trap game.

Akira better be on his game like he was in OT.

We are going to need him to make the routine saves a goaltender usually makes (and some saves like the ones in OT) if we are to beat the Yotes.

We are not at the point of taking teams for granted.

I prefer to put Mercer above Drysdale. And put Peterka in the top 12.

Sanderson is my top 1 player in the last 4 drafts. Its really hard to watch when players I really like, are playing for opponents. Really like Slaf too and was very happy for his first goal. Even today I feel good vibes when Sanderson made good things on the ice. Draft watching is making strange things with me.
Yeah, it's tough for me to root against players I pumped for the draft. I mean, I despise Carolina, but it's tough to wish anything but the best for guys I lauded all through their draft years like Jarvis, Necas, Pesce and Svechnikov.

Speaking of which, anyone remember when I said this off-season the Devils would be better off making a lesser deal for Necas (who was reputedly available) than a cataclysmic deal for Fiala or DeBrincat? So far:

Fiala: 3g 11a 14p
DeBrincat: 2g 9a 11p
Necas: 7g 12a 19p

After my Bernie Nichols jersey failure 30+ years ago, I just get the best practice jerseys I can find.
I have a Gusev and Ty Smith jersey and you’re belly aching about a guy who played on team in 1994? Learn to love again!

(Gusev was admittedly risky going in but I was in a weird place emotionally and he was fun. I did not see the one two punch of the sophomore slump and trade after his 2nd season with Smith though.)

How do play 15 minutes and not get a point in a game where your team scored 8 goals?
To be fair only 10 of the 12 Ranger forwards got points tonight, with 7 getting multiple points.

Husso’s SV% dropped from .941 to .920, he’s GAA went from 1.86 to 2.54 (he now has 9 starts).

Can I just be completely honest. I'm not joking one bit, but sometimes when I see Haula I confuse him with Geertsen. They both rock(ed) high 50s number and have a bit of a flow and are lefties. I'm there like "why is Geertsen taking a faceoff?"

PTSD from Geertsen playing a full season is gonna take a bit. But at the moment they both have 0 goals across their Devils careers so theres that.

So I guess we're not getting Bedard now huh?
I just want to get League Average goaltending.

Can Akira provide that until (hopefully) Vitek comes back?

Well..we're about to find out.

BTW, the Yotes are playing better than their record indicates as they did us a solid and blanked the Isles 2-0.

Hope the Devils and Akira find a way to get a "W" in that game.

We haven't played well the last two games, but winning both is huge. When you don't play your best and still get all the points, it matters later in the season. Winning when you don't have it also give the team confidence. Hopefully Vanecek is ok and we carry on to the next one.
