So much talk about Laine and Puljujärvi but as I have said before, Aho to the Canes at 35th overall is looking like an absolutely disgusting steal right about now.

Yeah. Will be interesting to see how his career pans out.

"Best thing in ice-hockey?" "Get to play and get friends.“

The third period will be pure battle on ice. Russia has the skill and will to still come back, just a matter of things clicking on. Obviously I hope Finns keep it together and take it though.

IIHF refs are IIHF refs. Even if the refs were to do a good job, it's rare to see both fanbases appreciate their effort and judgement in any sport.

In this case...it's Russians who have most to complain about...Mozyakin ( is it? ) was mugged...Call on OV was soft...

I mean all 3 penalties of the finns have been really soft, and Russia hasn't been able to capitalize on that. The refs missed more clear penalties on finns and russians, but gave really weird calls. Bad reffing all around.

Finland is a better hockey country than Russia, and that is proven almost every time they meet. Better coaching, better fundamentals, better strategy, and great defense. It looks like this one is over for Russia, although a comeback in the 3rd isn't impossible.

The NHL add-ons like Ovechkin have once again failed to make a difference, and they have been as always unable to compensate for very weak defense and for 3rd and 4th lines that do not belong on the ice at this level. Also, Bobrovsky has failed to make big saves when needed. Not that its his fault, but we could use a little heroics from him. I hope the Finns take it easy on us in the 3rd and don't run the score too high!

Finns will defend the 3rd. If Russia open up too much, it could be a blow out. And this with the Finns having a bad 1st period.
