Same here. Safe to say I won't extend after the free trial. Luckily, my boss is a hockey fan so he gave me the afternoon off so I could watch on my tv.

I cleared my cookies and now it worked. Great boss!

If the refs are this nervous by now, I hope to god sweden won't start embellishing later on like canada did

Embellishing?

I thought Finland's dressing rooms had special powers?

Strome was dying, had to immediately go to the dressing room....but than the magic of the room healed him, and he was out the very next shift. :) :)

(that was embarrassing as a Canadian!)

Overall a bit better from Sweden, but we can't relax. Need to get the next goal.

Very strong defensive display apart from a few giveaways. These d's look like they're vets already.. at least whilst playing kids :)

Finns started strong, momemtum shifted after the Swedish goal.

Pretty 50/50 period, Swedish D is looking great, Finns not.

Finns losing the physicality battle. Pula-aho - line has been kept out of scoring chances very tightly. We didn't completely lose the battle though, this team looks so much better than your average Finland's any national team: we can create chances and can match our opponents on speed.

Nicely played first period from young Finnish Lions. Not much to improvement, only need to score some goals more in later ons!

Overall a good period from Sweden. Finland has stretches where they create chances but mostly Sweden controls the game.

Tog bad Grundström couldnt put that chance in The net, 2-0 would have been sweet

I am with Ray Ferraro: Englund is very impressive this year. He is much faster than I remember last year. I can definitely see him becoming a quality (mid-pairing) defender on the NHL level.

Tymashov the most impressive Swede in the first despite his one gaffe.

Saarela was great in the first for the Finns.

Wow. Finland hade some really nice dives as well in that game. How about the Virtanen slashing call where the fin dropped on his knees because of slash on the stick. pathetic.

He tripped on his own stick that was slashed out of his hands

Slight edge to the finns, although grundström missed an absolute sitter.
Finns so much faster than the swedes, will the swedes keep up with the pace if Finland continues it?

I feel if the finns draws stupid penalties, the game is a done deal for the Swedes.

Good game by both teams so far. I think Sweden have been able to take advantage of the fact that they have a little better depth. Mainly, they have matched two units against Finland's top unit. Both the "2nd" (Kempe and co) and the "4th" (Anton Karlsson and co). The 4th often have hit the ice and skated a ton for a very deep shift and when Puljujärvi and co tried to head up ice again they face a very very good line with Kempe and Holmström which is scary when you are on the second half of a shift.

On top of that Sweden manage the puck very well, hard to get any prolonged attacks for Finland who has to be really patient.

What Finland have done really well though is protect their own net. Sweden got some momentum thanks to the above, but besides the goal and that swing at the rebound that went between the goalie and the net they have really not created any big chances. And when they counter attack, they are really fast. Best Finn so far must be Saarela who has been a big factor.

The next goal will be important. ;)

Noticing a lot of comments in this thread from before the game started stating that Sweden's (and Finland's) D is weak. Really? Have you even seen the tournament? The Swedish defence is the biggest reason they've yet to lose a point, and they're playing just as strong in this game now.
