1-4, which was my prediction here. Have not watched the game as I have had to get up for a flight now, so will need to see if it was a ‘bad’ 1-4 or the boys still acquitted themselves well against very strong opposition.

In any event congratulations to the US, which have played an excellent tournament and are heavily favoured to take gold!

Uhm... I don't really get these arguments. So you say you don't care about hockey at all in the US, isn't that a big negative factor for your hockey program? What is your point lol

My point is pretty clear. If our population cared about hockey more than baseball, basketball, football, even soccer we would dominate. Canada is so good because it's your number one sport but if it were ours we'd be the best. It wouldn't be close.

I think you'll be pleased with the effort but frustrated by how close they were to a different outcome. Your boys showed their win over Canada was no fluke.

It was a great game and we played really well. 4-1 score is not a reflection of the match. Hrabal was excellent.
Good to hear! I see the last two US goals happened in the final 5 minutes. What a shame. But jet’s forget it now and cheer them on against Sweden. The last bronze medal game was rather memorable…

I love that last game.. Becher and Co just killing it.

I'm ecstatic about a chance at Bronze and seeing this team one more time. For sure, I would've liked to be in Gold match but a third consecutive medal would be great!

What a game. Congratz team USA. 4-1 is imo too "cruel" result, since in the 3rd our team played really well, had some scoring chances there, equalizer was near, but a small mistake during line changes decided. Also that TMM penalty didn´t help us at all. It was a tactical mistake after swapping some players amongst the lines. Positives are: Hrabal performance, he was amazing again (especially in the 2nd period), young Novotný played without fear and Sikora, Štancl and Šalé played also really good. I hope guys saved some energy for BMG.

You’re right, it IS a big negative for our hockey program. And yet, it’s still at the top.

We're alright. Combine the population of all hockey nations and compare the the US and I'm sure the US still has by far the biggest population pool. The US is a top notch producer of hockey players. No doubt. They're scary good at all levels. Them being 10x the size of Canada and "only" just as good isn't as incredible as you seem to think. USA hockey has taken off in recent years and I'm very impressed with their development programs.

Hockey is like the 6th most popular sport in the US. Its been your countries favorite sport so you get a better breed of athlete playing.

I'll bet you there are more boys volleyball, gymnastics & swimming athletes in California than hockey players.
