I definitely agree with that. Finnish people are one of the worst on this board with that, maybe the worst because for some reason we like to laugh at other people losing/something happening to them
Nah, not really since all the Finnish success in the past ten years even the worst of your guys are usually among the most respectful around. Sure there’s the Sweden - Finland banter. But you have to see that for what it is. Best fans by far are the Czechs and the Slovaks though. Pure class.

I guess we do over reactions almost like the Canadian fans but what I really do not like is how effing negative we always are against our own teams, that so regularly tend to outperform our paper strength. Like we basically never are the top favourites in any tournament and we pretty often actually win them or medal etc. But a bloody minded, negative, pessimistic, vittumainen nation... In our unfortunate location in Europe it probably has been a very necessary attitude :)

I'd say that used to be the case. Now many Finns are even overly pessimistic and self bashing because we have so bad rep that maybe some try to overcompensate and show that we actually are humans after all.

This thread for example has been quite clean, if we compare it to previous years.

C*cky. Finns remind me of slovaks - they are humble here, but as soon as you say something they don't like, they will go after you

I was one of the super negative people. I assumed the worst, I tend to keep most of my negative feelings to myself because I want to show even a tiny bit of optimism before I post haha.

Yeah, I remember some horrible years. Its been a very quiet few years for Finnish hockey so szome of the worst people are focusing on more important things than laughing here I guess.

Czechs number one, finns second, agreed. Not Slovaks, they have a tendency to mock a bit more than those other two imo. Perhaps third.

You're right.

The problem is that Sweden has been a matriarchal society for the last fifty years or so. Most boys never interact with men. They are raised by women both at home and in school. They're also taught to never take initiative.

This may be why the juniors can't win gold medals but the seniors can. Usually when Swedes move overseas they start to break their programming.
Jesse, what the f*** are you talking about?
