They got son'd by Canada less than a week ago and are in the process of being kicked out of the tournament by the Americans.

They’d play the Russians tomorrow which actually should be a good hockey game.

Canada absolutely dismantled the Russians. It won’t be easy but I have faith they’ll win tomorrow against either of these teams.

Canada has been dominant, literally never been challenged, and is super confident. Will be interesting to see how they respond if they fall behind. All the pressure will be on Canada. And Levi remains a question mark in my mind. Knight could be the difference in a close game.

He also made an amazing circle to circle pass between guys which Zegras laid off for a one-timer and probably should have drove and shot himself.

People don't have to be having two points per game in this tournament to be doing something. Caufield has been an important part of the team and he has been dangerous tonight. I wish he finished his chance in the first minute this game likely unfolds very differently, but he still has been good. I also get to see him at Wisconsin from time to time as I watch the B1G Network a decent amount having grown up in the midwest. He displays high level passing routinely at that level. He isn't just all shot, Caufield has good hockey sense. I am not sure he will be a star, but he is going to be a decent player in the league in my opinion.

Fair points.

I also think he will be a decent player in the show.

Canada does get extra time to rest and prepare and the refs. It will be a tough hill to climb but I believe.

Ohhh...

It truly is a conspiracy...

Leslie Neilsen... Canadian...

Räty really screwed up there. Dumbass. Completely unnecessary penalty, happened in a nothing situation in the offensive zone to boot. Might be very costly...one goal and a total momentum shift happened.

The lack of audience is an interesting factor - there are no crowd reactions that might nudge someone to make a call on something borderline.

Plus the kids feed off the energy of the crowd, there have been less major momentum swings this year across the board than in other iterations of the WJC. Crowds do factor in, especially at the junior age level where they can certainly influence a game to a larger degree than an NHL game with seasoned pros.

Could just be my own observations though.

Quick sequence putting the Finns behind. They were in control of the game. Lots of time.

They have been giving up breakaways and half breakaways the entire time, a couple of 2 on 1 chances. Those aren't really things you want to do and more should be there as they open up. That second goal was coming from a structural standpoint, especially if they had bothered to study the tape on the USA in the second period of this tournament. It wasn't a fluke, they have been stretching them all night and will likely do it in the third.

Knight looks good, but isn't like we are talking about him standing on his head either.
