Rimpinen needs to play another godly game for Finland to have any chance against Sweden. Finland's defense is weak and Rimpinen has been bailing them out.

Honestly, it's any teams tournament. Finland looks like the weakest of the 4, but they could still win out given a few lucky breaks

You are that Canadian poster who was so certain of Canada’s revenge against the Czechs. 5-1 you expected, was it? Cute!

My heart says Czech Rep and Finland, but my head expects US and Sweden. Sadly usually the head is right.
yea when cze wins a gold medal give me a call

I like Finland in that game, think they will squeeze a one goal game out with goaltending being the difference.

The U.S-Czech game is tough to call but i would say the U.S finds enough goals to move on.

Well this tournament has never had a ton of depth so things generally always feel kind of stale, so I'm hoping for something somewhat-sorta fresh with a Sweden vs Czechia final for a couple of reasons...

1) It would guarantee that a team that hasn't won in a while does.
2) Despite both countries being historical powers I can't recall a ton of Sweden/Czech finals on any level.

With that said, I expect staleness to triumph over freshness and a repeat of last year's tournament.

USA vs Sweden for gold
Czechia vs Finland for bronze

Great games, Looking forward to these ones.
Sweden over Finland 3-2
USA over Czech... Don't know what score I want to put here. Should be a close one

You certainly are consistent... If it were Sudan having 16 skaters would you reluctantly say, "well, we are maybe slight favourites BUT..." :) Anyway, on paper Sweden is naturally clearly stronger but we almost always play well against them, their goalie looks pretty meh, our goalie has been excellent, and so on. I predict a very tight and even game which we have a good chance of winning.
Lol... Who says Gidlöf won't be in their goal? They have options you know and he isn't that meh. We got outshot by Slovakia by big margins. Dvorsky AND PEKARCIK toyed with whole our team when on ice. Especially against the first and second line.
I mean did you even see the game? Without Rimpinens great goaltending and actually weak Slovakian goaltending we would've lost so I feel pretty accurate with my statements so far. You seem to see some things as pessimism, I rather call it unbiased realism :)

We got an easy lead, they tell me you actually need a good goalie to be successful in hockey. Then there was a weird turnaround, then we won. I guess we are 4-0 this year against them? Anyway, I have already forgotten about that game.

Well, I 'll be just as glad as you if not happier if Finland succeeds with a big upset against Sweden.
Let's not forget that Sweden hasn't lost a game in this tournament with "Meh" goaltending... I mean that should be a more convincing argument than yours. Wasn't Feldbergs good against Sweden? Did Sweden lose? No.

Sorry for WoT. My QF predictions were right, altough of course, I hoped we have a chance against Canada, I was careful when calculating our chances against CAN, but yeah, guys were brave enough, the pressure in the 3rd was insane, but that PP probably decided. Some years ago we would be scared from such a chance, but guys played bravely and without fear and scored a decider. In semis, dunno, FIN-SWE, tough choice, maybe Sweden, they look more solid nad more experienced to me. As for us against US team, again I hope we have a chance, we need to play without unnecessary penalties and be effective in scoring chances + we need to be brave again. Everything is possible now. I am happy that we are slightly catching the lost train in ice hockey, after all those "dark" years. Ice hockey is rising again in Czechia, we will have some new stadiums in the near future (Brno arena with 13 000 capacity and possibly the biggest arena in the world in Pardubice - over 22k capacity, "crazy" project from Pardubice owner, 2027 expected date of opening), ppl in Czechia just love ice hockey as Canadians, winning over them in their own rink is something unbelievable. I know it is tough for Canada to swallow this loss (twice in a row), but it´s just a game we all love and more competitive teams = more intense games to watch. Respect to team Canada after the end, they behaved like true pros.
