To everyone complaining about the goal being called back due to offsides: Was the entry offsides? Yes, it was offsides.

I know it took place x amount of seconds before the goal. But allowing an offsides entry to remain uncalled influences the entire sequence of events happening 5, 10, 15, etc. seconds after the illegal entry.

If goal is started by an illegal entry, then it needs to be called-back according to the rules.

What would happen if that goal was allowed, and then Russia somehow tied it up 4-4 in the 3rd period and won the game?

That non-call would be very controversial if that were to happen.

You need to call things by the book to avoid this type of controversy.

People just look for every reason to blame the refs. It’s ridiculous. Every single call is bad if it goes Canada’s way. Sick of it.

Just leave the thread and never come back. No one likes you except your fellow conspiracy theorists.

At some point you have to make an allowance for calls just being "close".

Making everything microscopically correct is overcompensating IMO.

Excellent save on the penalty shot. So athletic.

Byram and Drysdale having another efficient night. Hope to see that pair again in an Olympic setting several years from today. They complement the other very well. Good chemistry.

If you're looking at this game and you're thinking "if it wasn't for the refs, this game would be way closer!", then you haven't been actually watching this game and you should feel shame.
Those people have lost their minds as much as Askarov has lost his stick. All the HFkarens are uniting!!

Well at least we got a better period from Russians...good pp too if you ignore the fact it was illegal

...So a team you dislike should lose a game (they're dominating, but that's neither here or there) because the officials took the right decision (which involved no judgement call) as per the current rules?

The ref whining this year is pathetic and more obvious than normal.

I dont think they should be allowed to challenge an offside 40 seconds prior, but those are the current rules, and all refs, no matter the nationality would call that offside.
