The plus is now on the wrong side. I would rather have Robertson than kuznutsov.

I think the point is it would take a whole lot to dump Seguin's contract and get a good player in return at the same time

Sounds like a pretty big overpayment for a guy who has a worse contract and hasn't looked too good. No reason for caps to

A lot of Caps fan was tired of Kuznetsov at that point missing playoff games because of breach of covid rules and not playing well when coming back. Still Seguin and Monahan that where talked about where never the one I wanted to go for as I consider Kuz at his best to be way better than Monahan and Seguin have slowly declined a little. Problem for Kuznetsov has always been stability. At his best few can match him.

At that time if Caps wanted to trade Kuznetsov I was thinking about a package for Eichel and hope Eichel was able to get back to his best. Happy Kuznetsov is still playing for the Caps tough.

I'm pretty sure they would have traded Kuznetsov, if there were interesting offers. It's just other clubs didn't want him.

Its also true that the extent of Backstrom's injury and the amount of time he would miss was not clear when that rumor hit.

The stars are extremely thin on NHL goaltenders outside of Hoaltby, Khuldobin and Ottenger

They're "extremely thin", outside of the three that they already have?

Alright then.

I mean sure, this offseason looks a little murky, with Oettinger a RFA, Holtby a UFA, and Khudobin a buyout candidate.

If Oettinger and Holtby are both back next season, that's a solid tandem. Stars are probably going to add a goalie or two in the draft, since their prospect cupboard isn't exactly stocked.

But I'm pretty sure the solution in goal for Dallas doesn't involve helping Florida with their own cap monster in Bobrovsky. :help:

Maybe not. Murray and Bernier would be two solid adds. Hard to win a cup with less the 5 nhl caliber starters
