REMINDER: Just one game and one day left before Who He Shall Not Be Named is rightfully restored to a serious, "real," and non-boutique NHL franchise. You know, one that isn't a "system team," whatever that is.

Until then, sit back with your favorite snack, beverage, edible, or SSRI, and enjoy a sterling 2-1 shotfest from the Lenovo Center.

Nice different guys will be standing still in the same spots on the power play. Will probably work

I think it might, because the biggest issue I've seen recently is that Jarvis had his role on PP1 usurped by Rantanen. Jarvis used to play the wall opposite of Aho, but has recently been the net front/high slot since Rants arrived. And he's looked completely nullified in that role.

So, by moving him down and allowing Roslovic and/or Blake to play that net front/high slot position, Jarvis can play the half walk on the 2nd unit and possibly get more success there.

Also note Rantanen is getting 2 righties along with the QB and Aho on PP1. Interesting setup.

If it looks good but lacks finish, I wonder if they try to upgrade on Roslovic on Friday. Boeser?

Hasn’t Rantanen moved into Aho’s spot on the powerplay?

I bet what we see is Rantanen (and maybe Aho) playing the most of the powerplay with Svech and Jarvis and Burns coming out earlier.

Just like our 5v5 game, it works when everyone is on and clicking and the passes are being zipped with purpose and clarity, guys have their legs moving and everyone is creating space and interchanging. The question is why does everything suck for weeks only for a theme night against the Sabres at home after a long stretch of BS play to get the best out of them? Only to then be followed by more mediocre play?
