Then we wouldn't even consider trading them. It isn't a great offer to begin with since McCarrson and Juulson have both underperformed. The Sedins won't go for next to nothing, especially with Vancouver having to absorb so much salary. Might as well have them retire as Canucks.
Vancouver would undoubtedly hold 50% of their salary. That's 7M for two solid top six players. At worst, they're a phenomenal second line. At best, they're still a decent first line addition. Contrary to what HF thinks about old players, GMs would pay to have that if the Sedins actually were willing to waive.
For one, Plekanec has to be involved even with the Canucks retaining 50%. Montreal doesn't have the cap without him going back. Regardless, Vancouver would demand Sergachev+ in that scenario. And they'd have every right to considering the amount of money they'd be taking back just to help Montreal. What you're offering is mostly the Habs' throwaway prospects. Vancouver isn't going to give up the two biggest names in their franchise for B/C prospects.
There is no chance in hell that Sergachev would be involved in any scenario involving the Sedins coming back let alone adding a plus. OMG i can't believe some of the players that some think it would take to get the Sedins. They can stay and retire as Nucks .All is well here.
