He's 180 lbs., and plays a soft, perimeter game. There's no "figuring out" the playoff demons. He is what he is. He just doesn't have the strength to elevate his game come playoff time, and none of his other attributes are elite enough to compensate for that. No thanks.

Play continued for another 20 seconds and the Canes had plenty of chances to get control back. It’s a nitpicky rule and it kills all momentum for the team scoring and fans watching.

The officials couldn't call an offisde that was 20 feet offside that led to this rule change. If its offside, its offside.

5 points in 17 games 5, 6, and 7. $14m cap hit. He's got 2 shots in his last 4 games and has been awful with turnovers and on defense. We'd honestly be better off trading back for Strome than wasting all that cap space on a player like him.

Penalties go uncalled all the time in this sport. A few millimeters of human error shouldn't halt the game for 5 minutes after a huge goal. At the very least there should be a compromise where if the defending team touches the puck at any point the offsides call is negated.

I can't remember any specifics off the top of my head but I'm sure the Hawks have been victim to missed offsides calls before in their dynasty years. It's just a part of the sport, winners overcome.

I think his two-way game is also terribly overrated. Just no thanks to that player at 14M a season.

The issue as I see it, is linesmen will tend to not call an offside that is close knowing it can be challenged .... another example of taking real decisions away from the on-ice officials.

They need to do an expedited review and let someone in Toronto buzz in with the correct call. No need to wait for a referee to come get a headset on get the tablet ready and all that.

The Hawks got absolutely f***ed by two missed offsides calls in game 7 vs the Kings in 2014. One was pretty blatant too.

If Blackhawks were playing Panthers it would be a different story for many here. Florida is dam good but they are also a dirty bunch with a few predators mixed in.
