So Scheafer might play in roubd two now..O know he was practicing with the team but I think I read he had to get cleared for contact before they removed the red jersey and he could get fill clearance to pay ...I think that foctor-s meeting scheduled for Thursday morning.. so ifvhe getscthecall clear he shoukd be good to goin the game that night.

Quick Guide:

Kitchener:
Jack Pridham - 2024 3rd round, 92nd overall

Windsor:
AJ Spellacy - 2024 3rd round, 72nd overall

Erie:
Martian Misiak - 2023 2nd round, 55th overall
Ty Henry - 2024 6th round, 163rd overall

Brantford:
Nick Lardis - 2023 3rd round, 67th overall
Marek Vanacker - 2024 1st round, 27th overall

6/7 Hawks OHL prospects play on teams that advanced to the second round. Only player with an eliminated team was Sudbury's Alex Pharand - 2023 4th round, 99th overall. Hawks do not currently have any prospects playing in the QMJHL or WHL.

Has a potential 1 OA or even top 3 pick in a draft ever missed as much time in their draft season as Schaefer has? I can't think of anyone in any sport who has a path like he has had this year.

Kyrie Irving in basketball played only 11 games before getting injured in Duke, but it was enough to make sure he's the 1OA.

So a chance 5/6 move on…guaranteed 1 to move on the semi finals

Brantford played Oshawa 8 times in the regular season:

9/28 - 6-2 win
11/3 - 2-5 loss
11/22 - 5-4 win
11/29 - 7-3 win
12/20 - 2-6 loss
1/17 - 5-4 win
1/18 - 5-3 win
2/28 - 5-3 win

I would put less credence on the 1st 4 games because Vanacker was out the 1st 3 games recovering from offseason surgery and the 11/29 game was his first game back. It took him a while to round into form. Plus teams can be vastly different from the first part of the season to the last part of the season and Brantford played with lots of injuries throughout the season - so much so that they played many games with only 9 forwards in the lineup or 9 forwards and 1 d-man playing forward.

Oshawa has some very good forwards - including (3) 1st rounders - Beckett Sennecke (#3OA 2024), Colby Barlow (#18OA 2023), Calum Ritchie (#27OA 2023). They also have a pretty good (overager) goalie - Jacob Oster who had a 0.904 save percentage.

I'm not predicting a Brantford win - cuz you never know - but I'm looking forward to watching this matchup because it should be a more free style and higher scoring series than the one Brantford had against North Bay who was a very tough and physical team that knew their only chance to beat Brantford was to tie them up and try to play low scoring 1-goal games.

First hand look at Misiak. Pretty unimpressed. He's an OK hockey player, but didn't see anything that wowed me. Knights pretty much shut him down and gave him little space to work with. Not overly skilled, not a fast skater (not slow either) and his shot is ok. Not much there I don't think.

Ty Henry I could see making it as a shut down depth Dman, really good skater, smooth with the puck, but not an offensive guy by any means. Played a lot vs Knights big line and didn't do a bad job 5 on 5.

My boy Nick Lardis is cooking in these playoffs. Misa struggled a good deal. I'd rather just keep Nick Lardis and draft someone different than Misa. They are very similar types of players and you don't want a whole lot of them on the roster. Especially when we already have a few undersized forwards on the roster/in the system; Bedard, Nazar, Moore, and Kantserov. I know Misa is close to 6'1", but he plays much smaller

Got hit up high. Not sure if it’s knee on knee. But was helped off by his teammates. Will be evaluated further.

It was knee on knee along the boards. He had to be helped up and assisted off the ice. He wasn't putting any weight on his left leg. They had only one camera angle and it didn't show the contact to his knee but you could see that's where the contact was made.
