What is Chabot out with? I know he got a puck in the face, but does he have a concussion or something?

Usually if it's just a cut, they wear a cage and keep playing, even if it's some major cut.

And even if an eye is swollen shut, like stutzle, they usually play.

This makes me think it's more than just a big cut stitched up or swollen face or whatever.

I think all players should wear a full cage all the time. They will get used to it over time.

And keep gloves on for fights. Helmets and gloves. Would make fighting much safer. Would still get some ringers but I would assume way less. And way less broken hands. Less bare heads hitting the ice on the falls too.

Any ripping the cage off is a game misconduct.

Bam, let's bring fighting back in a safer manner!

Also less bear hugging as it would be harder to just tie up and not allow punches...would be more like boxing lol

Congrats to Sebrango, may your shoulder find Ovechkin’s chest and cave it in.
Funny you should say this. I remember Jesse Winchester going after Ovechkin in one of his first games when trying to make a name for himself.

I'll settle for Sebrango dancing with Tom Wilson tonight...

could be a few things, could be a broken jaw, concussion symptoms……. Nobody knows,

Yeah, exactly why I was asking. Basically, I see players play with injured faces all the time...I'm wondering if the injury is to more than just his face, as in his head or something.

Nobody knows? Ok, so nothing has been reported. Makes the questions all more intriguing.

Unlikely a broken jaw or concussion symptoms as Green said he's hopeful Chabot is ready for games on the weekend.

Good news! Wondering why he could practice but not play...or why guys like Timmy and Tkachuk did play with busted faces?

I wonder what is the difference between the 3? Maybe just they have different levels of comfort threshold to play or if something specific is not allowing him to play that wasn't there for the other two guys? No idea.

Well, he probably practiced to see if he could grind it out and play. The guy probably spent significant time in the dentists chair, and is probably on some pain meds to numb everything, this isn't just a cut or some swelling, he was wearing the full bubble in practice. Brady had a cut, Tim a black eye.

With a busted up nose and/or swollen mouth, Chabby probably found it tough to breathe heavily. He probably also had a raging headache. You need to listen to your body, and his body was telling him that he had just suffered a traumatic injury and needed to rest.

I thought Sebrango looked really good last night. Very positionally sound, moved the puck well - he definitely didn't look like the moment was too big for him. I would be happy to see more...

I thought we've had guys wear full face shields. I guess the drowsy pain meds would make the most sense.

I guess they can't exactly put a needle to your face to freeze it and numb the pain.

It does make you give props to guys who don't miss any time when they have a busted up face. Those examples are always used to show how tough some hockey players are.

I like the videos where you see a soccer player not get touched and dive around and then you see a player block a shot with their face and and be covered in blood and saying "put my back out there coach!"

This happened to me where I got a a slap shot in the chinand just wanted to keep playing but the ref blew the whistle and kicked me off the ice because blood splatter covered my jersey and blood was running down my face and neck. One of those 11pm games where I didn't feel like spending all night at the hospital when I had work the next day...so for several days it just kept leaking blood down my neck. I remember several days later taking a shower and putting a white t shirt on and looking down and it was covered in blood. Lol

Makes me wonder how tough the guys who get a puck to the face and drop and cover their face on the ice for 30 seconds...like, get up. It's just a bloody cut. Covering your face on the ground is toddler behaviour lol.

I'm on a completely side topic rant, yes I know lol

It's just one game, but he picked up where he left off in training camp. He looks like he has a chance to be a solid bottom 4 guy (more likely bottom pair)

I was impressed by his composure, he didn't panic.

Would rather break my leg than get my mouth/teeth smashed in like that and need to spend hours with the dentist. Finally put on a cage this year so I never risk that awful experience.
