Sebastian Aho has 6 straight playoffs with 10 points or more and has 8 going into the second round, anyone with a better 10+ point current streak?

Sebastian is just so consistent, 6 straight years double digits in points in the playoffs and has 8 going into the second round.

I also wonder if the canes go deep if it ups his legacy a bit but still probably isn't on a HHOF path.

If he follows the same pattern then he'll get 3-4 more points and then they get eliminated.
I think the Canes will make it past round 2 they look really strong, except having Anderson out from that Meier hit might hurt them, depends on the matchup I guess.

Super impressive.

In comparison, in their last 4 playoff appearances (including this year)

LEON DRAISAITL
Games Played: 58
Goals: 33
Assists: 58
Points: 91 points

Goals per Game: 0.56 (47 goals over an 82 game season)
Points per Game: 1.57 (129 points over an 82 game season)

CONNOR MCDAVID

Games Played: 58
Goals: 28
Assists: 77
Points: 105 points

Goals per Game: 0.48 (40 goals over an 82 game season)
Points per Game: 1.81 (148 points over an 82 game season)

And none of this production is enough for a Cup. It's tough out here. Hockey is the ultimate team sport and your team team needs to be stacked on D and goalie too.

Thanks for the update. I had never heard about these guys before. Somebody should make a thread about them.

Anyway, I've always liked Aho. I feel like he's always been flying under the radar a little, ever since his junior days because of all the hype surrounding Laine and Puljujarvi. Good for him.

Great skater, playmaker and two-way player. There's simply a lot to like with his game.

This is largely a function of being the 1C on a team that has gone to at least the second round for 7 consecutive years.

Only three other teams have ever done that. So the 1C on the great majority of teams will have a year where they made a quick exit before they could pile up numbers.

There’s something to be said for it, even though it’s a pretty obscure stat. He shows up and pulls his weight in the playoffs every year. Lots of guys don’t.

Sure but he is still 8th overall and 6th in ESP during that time frame.

He is an excellent playoff performer even with the trivia question I posted.

It's definitely a Goldilocks stat.

He pulls his weight, but his team has also been good around him allowing him to get to the second or third round every year to put up those points.

While he's never had a bad year production wise, he also hasn't had a playoff run where he has put the team on his back with a big hot streak. Perhaps his year he can break through.

He for sure gets less press than he deserves because he's in Carolina and they don't get coverage unless they go to the finals essentially.
