Sean Monahan vs Elias Lindholm

I think Monahan has aged a bit better, Lindholm has been falling off the last few seasons and Monahan has had a good start to the year. I can see him continuing his pace in Columbus.

He'd probably need another PPG+ season to seal it though.

Flames dillemas, lol...

Anyway, the answer, career wise is- hard to say... Both had ups and downs, but neither ever was what you want from your #1 C... Great options for #2c though.

BTW- as someone who never followed drafts and prospects, I was surprised to discover that Lindholm was drafted higher in a same draft. I always got impression that hype around Monahan was bigger (seen some ppl cpmparing him to McKinnon in their early days).

Monahan was the more physically ready and higher iq player, but MacKinnon was significantly more skilled, faster, and just overall had the ability to take over games. Prior to 2017-2018, Monahan legit did play better than MacKinnon. But after that it was history and MacKinnon became one of the leagues best.

Almost a dead heat so far career wise. Give the edge to Lindholm because he has a runner up Selke. Monahan has had a much better season so far though.

As a flames fan, Lindholm is the more complete player. Monahan is leagues ahead in finishing though.

A healthy Monahan will out produce Lindhom if he isn't a 1c toi though

Lindholm has had like 2 really good seasons with CGY. But other than that he's been pretty average, and his season so far has been a dud. Boston was hoping for a borderline #1C, and they got a guy on 40 point pace.

Monahan hasn't been much better, career wise, with only one standout season. But he's a better finisher. And I think health held him back from bigger career numbers.

Monahan for both.
