After everything that happened with Chara and Lucic, vs Montreal over the years ,Montreal actually tried to sign both of them to come play in Montreal after they left Boston....

So here we are with a rumor of Farrell to Ducks.....what will be in the deal.

Habs looking for a hard gritty forward.....who produces in playoffs...
Is Chris Kreider coming to Montreal.....

Kreider's favorite Nhl player growing up was Martin St Louis...

hard pass at this point, lots of money - didn't mind the idea of Trouba at one point though

Farrell has no trade value since he is unlikely to make an NHL roster of a team that's playoff bound, so why trade an asset for someone that you could just lose for nothing to waivers (not that I think he would get picked, but teams know they can just get him for free in October). I would assume this is just Hughes doing him a solid and getting nothing in return.

I'm just surprised it's the Ducks, they are the last team I thought would be interested in a small winger that's got no physical game. I thought a team like the Flames would make more sense, to me if he could just add 10-15 lbs of muscle, he would be an NHLer but how long will that take, if ever to happen.

If it was to happen Kreider to habs...we'd only actually pay him 4 million this season....he's worth that.
I don't know man. The amount of money I'd have to spend on steam cleaning my carpet after every time I threw up on it from seeing him. I don't think it's worth it. ;)

I think there is a salary dump involved.

that would make sense, they do need to free up cap space but the Habs don't have a lot of space either so unless a 3rd team is involved, not sure I see a fit there on who we would pick up unless other trades are being done before the season starts.

Killorn and Kreider are both paid over $6m, that would leave $3m for Xhekaj and Bolduc. Habs are past being cap dumping teams.
Unless Hughes thinks one of those players can actually help.
It would look like the desperation move we believe Hughes would never do.
