Seth Jarvis - the human win button for the Hurricanes. When this kid scores, the only L Carolina takes is the one in his last name and he ain’t got any. Man’s got a sixth sense for when the team needs a hero moment.

Today he went full Michael Jordan-meets-Michael Phelps, stretching out like Stretch Armstrong himself to snag that puck out of midair and bury an absolute dagger. Goalies see him coming and immediately start updating their résumés because they know what’s about to happen.

The secret analytics that Tulsky won’t share with anyone: Jarvis runs on pure Carolina BBQ and spite. Told he was too small? Proceeds to play like he’s 6’4” and made of pure vibranium. Every time he scores, Rod just adds another protein shake to his diet plan and another set of squats to his workout.

Watching Jarvis on a breakaway is like watching a cheetah chase down its prey - inevitable, terrifying, and somehow both graceful and savage at the same time. Opposition coaches have nightmares where he’s just circling their bed waiting for a rebound.

Amazon’s about to give this man his own TV show and the ‘stache is already practicing its Emmy acceptance speech. Jarvard alum with a hockey IQ higher than most actual Harvard graduates. Founding member of Sigma Chi Backhand, where rush week involves double fisting beers while stickhandling through traffic cones. The fraternity motto: “Forecheck, Backcheck, Paycheck, Bro.” Tulsky just sits back crunching numbers while Jarvis makes the analytics nerds look like prophets. The rest of the league is still wondering how to stop him while he’s already planning his next highlight reel moment.

Pretty interesting to watch 12 forwards play pretty much the same way. No deferring to Rantanen. No swooping and attacking with speed from Necas. No perimeter play from Teravainen.

Some are bigger than others. Some are more skilled than others. It’s straight line hockey shift after shift after shift. Maybe the Rod-est team of them all.

Only caught parts cause was busy.

reffing was VERY bad today. WTF levels of bad. Openly bias and smirking bad.

Tanky got a a goal. Woot. Netfront kinda.

Jarvis SHG's are something else. I almost feel like we have more SHG than PPG at this point since Jan.

Almost all of our traded players have had more impact than Rantanen has had on any team hes played on.

Can someone please start a shrink fund for PK? WTF. How can a guy be so good and so shit at the same time. Is it luck? Can we fix it?

We need Kooch to be at least solid and he has been anything but that for the last few weeks. Wasnt that long ago he looked like a top tier goalie now he looks like trash. I would certainly miss his character if he gets moved but if he does get back to form soon the FO might not have a choice this offseason. There is not a replacement for Freddie out their and we cant go next season with his injury history without a true 1b behind him. Right now Kooch is more like a low C.

Agreed, but at the same time the current market for goalies is terrible. I could foresee us using some of our draft capital or capspace to take a promising goalie from another team. Given how much teams are paying for in contract and in trade acquisition to acquire good goalies, Tulsky may gauge that it is prohibitively expensive to improve our tandem. I can see us staying with Andersen/Kooch if only for that reason. Market's dry.

As much as it can be painful, the likelihood that Kooch will get more consistent as he enters his late 20s and early 30s is high. The likelihood that we'll get back equal or better value for trading Kooch is low. I'm on board with keeping him around with this in mind, even if his play makes it risky starting him in the playoffs.

I watched TOR-ANA last night and holy crap were the refs bad there too. Mostly blatant holds, hooks, and outright takedowns, often right in front of a ref, just not called.
