  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

The way I look at it, we go 1-1-1 against the oilers, Avalanche, and Dallas over the weekend (if we win tonight) that would put us 1 point back and get rid of our games in hand advantage. They currently have 9 games left, and we would have 9 after those games. Then all we have is Vegas twice in our remaining 9 games for extremely tough games, while St. Louis has a MUCH tougher remaining schedule.

I like the way you think. I wish I could be more positive w our chances. I just don't think a weaker schedule means much for us. What's our record vs non playoff teams this yr?

Anyway I hope you're right and it does make a difference and we find a way.

@Boomstick forgot to share this because the game distracted me lol

Wolf really is this team, guy can only carry us so much.
This narrative needs to end already. Over roughly the last 2 months:

Kadri: 25 games, 13 goals, 25 points
Huberdeau: 25 games, 9 goals, 24 points
Weegar: 24 games, 19 points, +8

And my personal favorite, Coronato has averaged over 20 minutes a night of ice time over his previous 6 games, and has rewarded the team with 7 points and 4 goals over that stretch with some of them being huge.

The kicker? Here are our goalie stats:
Wolf 7-7-2, 2.82 GAA, .902%
Vladar 4-2-1, 2.55 GAA, .905

Wolf is getting the lion share of the starts and still is playing great hockey, but our team game has not been getting nearly enough credit as shown by Vladar’s similar numbers, especially considering Vladar is still sheltering Wolf from some of the rough games. Who has Vladar’s games came against? Winnipeg, Seattle (2nd game of B2B), Washington, Florida, Dallas, Rangers (2nd game of a B2B), and the Islanders

If we make the playoffs, a lot of players get to have their names on the list of reasons why for stepping up down the stretch.

No respect for Vladdy. Loads of credit needs to be given to Hube and Kadri for being the only offense of note on this team.

Our team game is 2.64 GPG during the past 2 months (and that's with the 13 goals in the past 3 games) The actual forwards as a unit have been limp dick until these past few games, but it is nice for something to get going at this point. I can appreciate that a few guys have stepped up, but Wolf's goaltending has been the saving grace of this team all season (and yes, that has included Vladar down the stretch; his post four-nations has been good enough to make up for his poor start to the season). W/o it, the team wouldn't be in a position to go on a hot run right now.

Calgary is 14th in GA, , 15th in SA, 18th in xGA, and 18th in SCA during that stretch. Everything about that is a team getting above average goaltending but while playing team defense right in line with our spot in the standings. What’s helped us more than anything is the sheer amount of clutch offense we have been receiving from Huberdeau, Kadri, Weegar, and lately Coronato.

Since mid January, our wins have been coming much more from offense showing up than goaltending carrying us. Our 2.6 goals per game actually eloquently displays what’s been carrying us. In our wins we score 3.8 goals per game. In our losses? 1.5 goals per game. It’s hard to say our goalies have been hard carrying us when we almost average 4 goals a game in wins. Which once again takes us back to who’s been helping carrying the team, because pretty much wall to wall in those wins you see huge games from Huberdeau, Kadri, Weegar, or Coronato. In those wins, there are 16 multi point efforts from those 4 names alone.

Long story short, these last 2 months we win if our offense shows up, and lose if they don’t. Goaltending isn't carrying the team to wins when we score 3.8 goals a game in them.
