Kraken. 15-16-2. 33 games played.

They have 49 games remaining.

Give me the predictions on how many points Kakko has in those 49 games. Let's hear it.

Additonally, I'm not sure what the expecations are for Kakko in SEA but I wouldn't be expecting some hugely improved role. They already have Schwartz/McCann/Tolvanen at LW and Burakovsky/Bjorkstrand/(Eberle) at RW plus Sprong so it's not like there is some clear spot open and SEA is notorious for really spreading out the ice time. If he replaces, Tanev for the moment, is playing with Schwartz/Beniers even an upgrade on playing with Cuylle/Chytil?

I hate the return. Surely someone else would have offered more?
I was jus debating the KK value in his thread yesterday. I was told a 1st or 2nd. I figured if a 1st was possible he would have been gone a long time ago. I held out hope for a second. I said his value was a 2nd to a 5th. I think this package was the best offer out there.

I mean. Drury could have also done... nothing. Like what the f***?

This wasn't a needed move. It wasn't a cap dump. A rental for a run. A retool. It was literally absof***inglutely useless.
No, this was needed.

If I watched Kakko skate into the zone and just lose the puck to nobody one more time, I was doing 25 to life for murder.

20. He has like 7 points in 9 games post trade, people freak out, then he comes back to earth and is his usual anemic offensive self before the Kraken move in from him this offseason

I am literally, truly, once and for all, about 10 days from never supporting this team again.

And I have never given a f*** about Kakko. He’s been a weak, disappointing pansy ass on the ice since day 1. This trade is just SO bad. Either get a mid 2nd or a change of scenery candidate. Instead you got quantity with zero value and no quality.

And they’ll probably act as if this is actually a shakeup and stand pat for a bit. Absolutely f*** that. We need FIVE more roster pieces gone before March, zero exaggeration, period.

This trade comes off as petty, weak and desperate. It does nothing for the Rangers apart from making it look like Drury is doing something to scare the room with and Lavi gets a player who talked back to him out of his face.

Pathetic, erratic trade but totally on par what we've seen and expect from Drury. Also, I dont believe for a second the lipstick they had Weekes paint on this pig of a trade, or the lipstick they gave the beat writers about targeting Borgen. They said the same thing about Blais too...

Drury lost his temper again and traded Kakko to a backwater (rather than a team such as the Wild) where he isnt likely to come back to bite him in the ass right away. Even a prospect from the Wild's deep pool, like GoAwayPanarin was talking about, would have been better than this.

But, Borgen does fit into Lavi's 101 Dino Template of what an NHL defense looks like, so there's that if someone finds that encouraging.

Why is it an "erratic" trade lol. Kakko has been in trade rumors literally his entire Ranger career, predating Dreary.

Im more mad these idiots didn't trade him for Jack Eichel or Matt Tkachuk when they had the chance.

I have no doubt it wasn't Kakko's words that did him in. It was missing an empty net at 1-0. Drury placed a call to Seattle precisely 65 seconds afterwards. Check the cell tower pings.
It is possible a deal was close before KK was even benched. Maybe there was a sticking point holding it up a couple of days?

I think a straight 2nd would have been a fine return based on what Kakko is currently. I know there's perceived upside there (?) but you weren't getting a 1st. He has been in the league with massive exposure for too long to fool anyone into a 1st.

A 3rd from a team that likely finishes in the bottom half and maybe the bottom 10? Again, if we had gotten a 2nd from like MIN or LV or whoever, it's not a huge difference.

BORGEN
