Maybe I am underrating Borgen or misreading the Rangers situation but this really doesn't make much sense to me from the Rangers perspective

The price on him was what you get for a depth third liner.

If the Holtz, Jiricek, etc. deals tell you anything, it's that draft pedigree only goes so far once the league has had a long look at a guy.

He's a likable player in some ways but with all the leverage on the other side of the table, this is about what you'd expect.

Jiricek got back quite a bit

Forgot about the low 1st.

But if he was the player he was supposed to be, Columbus would've done better. He's not that good and probably tops out as a 4/5 with his skating.

He was becoming a distraction. Team was having a hard enough time off the ice without him whining.
I don't see how he was. His comments weren't even that bad. People making a lot of very little. Not as if he started naming teammates and trashing their play. He just said he thought he wasn't playing the worst, which is a generic type of comment with nothing behind it. And he even added that he needed to play better. I get how they were slightly newsworthy comments, but they should've gotten a lot less attention.

Kaako will probably light it up for a few games with Seattle, then settle down to his usual self.

Don’t know much about Borgen, hopefully he brings a heavy game.

At some point you have to call a spade a spade. Draft pedigree last ~2 years…maybe. The guy is basically just a 3rd liner. He can get better but he is probably what he is. I doubt he’ll have fond memories of the Rangers.

Was this really all Kakko was worth? Or was it a F you to him over his comments made.

That’s what Drury has build

He’s created a complete mess and is trying to trade from that position.

I don’t understand why and how some expect fair value when you are dealing from a position of weakness and not strenght
