Team USA should promise him games at the no-Russians cup, just to keep him away from Team Canada.

He is going to go to Team Canada and steal the starting job there. He probably isn't the third best American goalie right now, but with the way he is playing, USA should do everything in their power to prevent him from being selected by Team Canada.

Hopefully he just does what RR was suggesting he might already be leaning towards - and that’s representing the Swiss.

He can definitely make the top 3 for a USA roster here and there given injuries and fatigue. But even if he cements himself as a top 10-12 starter in the NHL (I think he has been the last 12 months, but I mean really cements his rep) - even then, passing a healthy trio of Helle, Otter and Demko is just daunting, not to mention Swayman when he gets back to form. The Americans (and Russians) just have insane goaltending quality and depth.

Hockey Canada might just be delulu enough to think Cup champions Binnington and Hill and runner-up Stuart Skinner are good enough for tournaments in the next couple of years…
