Jarry is the worst goalie on the ice every game

On the highlights the arena looks to be less than half full

Edit: In the 3rd it looks like a lot more people. Everybody was stuck in traffic?

Pretty much - big snowstorm in Pittburgh, a city that sucks to drive in on a glorious summer day. The organ player had to stand in for the regular anthem singer. Attendance was estimated at around 6,000 at puck drop and another 10,000 yinzers eventually made it by the third period.

They should've begun in earnest tearing things down last summer. I hope they go into next season having moved anything of value; EK, Petts, Rust, Rakell, Bunting.

Try and be as bad as you can to have the best shot at McKenna and Dupont. That'll go a long way toward whittling down the misery between the Sid era and the next period of legitimacy for this team.

Still have time to get a heck of a prospect this draft too if they manage to ship out a few pieces between now and the TDL and settle in for a miserable couple months.

I’m just tired of having coaches who prioritize personal relationships with players over the results of the team. You don’t have to do a 180 and hire a maniac like Torts Babcock, but it would be nice to see some level of accountability that isn’t based on country of origin or NHL games under your belt.

TJ has had more than enough chances. They sent him down, and brought him back up and he still can’t get it done. He just doesn’t have the “it” factor at this level. At least not for this team. How many more points is Sullivan willing to throw away for this guy?

If the team actually had any intention to compete for a playoff spot, Blom would be starting every single game
If the team had any intention of competing, they would be adding top talent not holding serve looking to trade off their top talent.

By which the reasoning people are blaming the goalie is really the last gasp at resisting they are tanking in plain sight while giving the illusion they are doing right by Crosby.

Hook line and suckers....

The thing is, they did try to add by bringing in Karlsson. A big splash to deter a bad signing of the incompetent GM who failed miserably in Toronto with a much younger core.

Well, at least Jarry didn't allow a goal on the first shot this time. Baby steps!

Someone needs to count how many backbreaking goals the Pens have allowed within a minute of allowing another goal or finally getting one of their own. Seems to be a huge number because the team has the mentality of game 7 Maple Leafs and Jarry is in his April form already.

After that lopsided first period, the game was pretty even chances-wise. Freaking Bylsma made better in-game adjustments than Sullivan! Talk about humiliating.

In the grand scheme of things, it's better that we are losing now, so the playoffs hopes are gone before the trade deadline but can't these idiots even tank properly? Stop teasing us with these narrow losses, lose like you did against the Sens, you fools.

P. S. Just saw this gem from Sullivan:
“If I had the answer, I’d fix [the defense],” Sullivan said.
I wanted to add a funny comment but I decided that the quote speak for itself, really.

Good points all - As for Malkin, hopefully that look in the mirror includes his loafing leading directly to the Oleksiak goal
Unscreened shot from 24 feet out…it’s on Jarry, even if he and Bunting were caught flat footed…DK is really taking Dubas to task for prioritizing trying to trade Jarry by playing him over getting wins lol…

Yea, no.

Obviously their coaching is much better, as is the majority of the rest of the league, but their roster is way better than ours.

Their D is vastly superior to ours. They went out and got good players like Chychrun and Roy this summer. Added Sandin last year.

Both their goalies are better than ours.

They took on PLD and Strome as reclamation projects. Let young players like Protas and McMichael not only play, but play bigger roles as they earned it. And still have blue chip prospects like Leonard and Miro waiting to come up.

The Caps have a much, much better roster in every way imaginable than us. They hit on just about all their reclamation projects, but they also moved on quickly from a guy like Kuemper who clearly was a mistake. Meanwhile we’re still trotting Jarry out there and Graves is getting paid bank to sit on his ass.

Caps have threaded the needle of actually rebuilding on the fly. It took a few years of selling, getting lucky with their crappy aging stars LTIRetiring in Backstrom and Oshie, and drafting and trading well. They also have always put a ton of resources into Hershey and their prospects are coming up in a winning environment. We are not in the same class as them.
Ok, maybe not opposite, but the Capitals would be hovering around 8th with the same roster.

If we had their coaching, obviously guys like Acciari and Nieto would not be playing and both of our goalies would be gone.

I truly believe we would be firmly in top 3 if reversed and they would be hovering between 7th or 8th if not downright out of the playoffs with Sullivan.

If you think having Blomqvist in net will change anything, you obviously haven't been watching.

Blomqvist has a .904 save percentage in the NHL, much better than both of our other scrub goalies and the only one in the .900s. He also played when the penguins were at their absolute worst defensively. They are 10x better currently and getting eleven average goaltending out of him would make this team win way more.

If Blom played the rest of the season like the other two, his GAA would be in the 2s.

Thanks tank commander Jarry. All the usual suspects back to their sewer layers into they can peak out and bitch at what monsters we are for making fun of their Fleury surrogate.
