We haven't moved our feet consistently in over a month, I get they've clinched, but I'm about sick of the lackluster effort. I can take mistakes and poor execution, I can't take poor effort and lack of give a shit.

I don’t read too much into the play and record of a team in the final stretch leading into the playoffs.

The Caps won the final 3 games of last season to clinch their playoff spot and then got blown the f*** out in 4 straight games in round 1.

They’re clearly preserving themselves for Sunday. We need to get good goaltending again though, it hasn’t been good even before LT went down.

Leonard has one goal and no assists in 8+ games. He isn’t on this roster to be a grinder. I’m sure he will turn into a great player but he isn’t ready and playoffs are only more intense.

If we post happy thoughts or sad thoughts on here … it doesn’t change what will happen on the ice. We all watch the same games, we know we’ve struggled for a while and just assuming we can magically turn it on isn’t ideal.

But we’re also a really good deep squad. Pro back, Logan back … the likes of Mcilrath and others to the bench.

We won’t know how round 1 plays out until round 1 plays out.

You can be a hopeful positive fan.

You can be a negative pessimist fan.

No wrong choice.

True, but nobody worried about Montreal's goalie. The Caps need to pound the hell out of them in Game 1. A few good hits on Demidov and Hutson should be a great start.

Perhaps but I’m not sure I want to take a guy who can skate out of the line up when they are already up against with MTL speed.

I would. He's got the talent and playoff experience will boost him, especially after being close in college. He's built for playoff hockey.
