ive been really impressed with Matthews defensively... i know ive questioned it on the main boards before... but hes actually pretty good.

Hes sneaky good with the stick. Definitely better defensively then he gets credit for.

Gives some opportunity to play him more though too. I don't think they're comfortable with Nylander, rightly or wrongly.

Would love to see Matthews & Marner split up. Keefe will never do it, he is a stubborn fool. But I think that's what needs to be done to get things going. Hopefully the next coach will consider the possibility of splitting them up at times.

This is the night to do it. 2nd line isn't really a line so move things around. I'd like to see Willy with Matty for a period.

Absolutely - swap Marner and Matthews to make it harder for Montreal to defend both of them. Put Nylander with Matthews - there is chemistry there.

Kinda reminds me of Getzlaf that way( who was also pretty underated defensively through out his career).... but both are good at deflecting passes... and jumping passes.
