injured goalies should be treated different since the opposing team is going to shoot pucks at them. the only issue would be if it lead to goalies flopping.

Refs have the discretion to allow the play to unfold, Avs have the discretion to challenge the play.

Did they?

They did, and after a very short review the ref had a rather sassy “no goaltender interference” ruling.

Hope Wedgewood is ok, but that looked unfortunate. Maybe just a sprain?

Woulda understood if the refs blew it, but they didn’t, the f*** do you want Benny to do?

Yeah I could see that if the puck made it up top for a point shot, wouldn’t be surprised if they blew it dead in that case. I’m sure there’s some amount of discretion involved

It really isn't:

Unless your interpretation of "serious injury" is a player literally dying on the ice, that's a f***ing green light for pests running into goalies. Just throw yourself into a goalie after a crosscheck, it won't be whistled down.

And no, I'm not blaming the Buffalo player on this one, it was obviously just on Kelly of the Avs.

The pests of the hockey world already do that.

Lol these Avs announcers are such homer clowns.

"I've never seen anything like it" they say above.

How bout this time when you they said "you can't just immediately blow the whistle cause the guys says I'm hurt"

(assuming these are the same guys)

You know the guy who said that in that clip is literally dead right you clown? Real classy there. Past away after battling cancer.

yea they should. you shouldnt be shooting the puck at an injured player.
Player goes down in front of the net, do you now stop play and not shoot in his direction ?

Player goes down in the middle of the ice, do you now not do a cross ice pass because he’s down?

A hockey player is a hockey player, treat them the same.

In my opinion Benson cuts hard towards Kelly and falls into the goalie, Kelly does not push Benson in.

I get why the ref let the play continue, but in a situation like that I feel the ref should blow the whistle.
Are you f***ing kidding me? He slew foots him directly onto his goalie. Uncalled, btw.

No I did not know that. Sorry for his loss. But the main announcer dude is the same guy right? So why's he acting all surprised like this is some unheard of situation?

that can be left at a refs discretion. goalie is a bit different since he's directly where the shot is going.
