Just because you use the pinkest shade lipstick available doesn't make the pig pretty.

This trade will never look good. There's zero chance Laughton ever performs to a level greater than that of a chump. That's not a knock against Laughton either.

It's not his fault Turdliving traded a 1st and prospect for him.

The sad thing is Treliving doesn't work in a vacuum. There's all kinds of scouts, analysts, and well paid advisors to help him reach these decisions. All these idiots brainstorming and they still thought it was a good idea to make this trade.

Maybe if they add one or two more dumb people to the group they'll have the combined brain power of one smart person.

I'll never understand why teams are always so eager to hire another team's recent castoff. While he was in Calgary Treliving just loved trading for junk that made his team worse and he's doing it here now too. They traded for a third line centre and ended up with a glorified fourth line winger instead.

Call a donkey a thoroughbred all you want it still doesn't make it true.

More and more Scottie is rubbing off on me, quality player and a work horse.

It came down to "If we don't win in the next 2 years will any of us be here in 2027 when the pick is up?". Answer prob not so win/win for them. Either they look smart or are fired and next guys problem

Da trade is proving to work out as planned as he is our best playoff forward constantly tilting play every time he is on da ice .. da issue of the value of the 1st will always be there, but that was very high cost this TDL, and you can't blame Tre for pulling da trigger based on his playoff play which is all that counts for us now .. playoff teams do it every year .. i must admit based on regular season play it looked terrible .. based on playoff play it looks good .. just da exact opposite of all our core 3 Muskoka/golf passengers .. i am excluding JT here because he is giving it his all based on what I am seeing

Laughton looking decent. Seriously much of the time when he's on the ice I don't notice him much. Just good work effort and battles for the puck, but yeah nothing really spectacular or super noteworthy so far. Lets hope he can keep getting better.

Looks great. Didnt love the trade. But if he can be a gritty 3 c. It’s amazing

Would prefer more scoring with him on the wings but if this is what it is then ok.

Tough. Defensive. Blocking shots. Dominating possession.

Laughton is a great player. He is all over the ice. You can see why it cost a bit to get him. He has won me over personally. Of course he could have beared down and NOT hit that post in the 3rd. Glad that didn't come back to haunt us. Laughton and Lorentz are great together. Jarnkrok is serviceable but I think we can do better there.

Would I like to see him bury a couple in the next round? of course.

But if he's going to come up with clutch blocks like that he's doing exactly what he was brought here to do.

Shut guys down.
