Confirmed with Link: Scott Laughton (50% Retained), 4th Round Pick and 6th Round Pick Traded To TOR For Nikita Grebenkin and 1st Round Pick

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Remember that it took them YEARS to come to grips with trading a 4th liner.

Meanwhile they can't make skilled players go away fast enough. They'll even pay to make sure it happens as fast as possible. Then they complain that they need more skill; the only conclusion is that they believe types like Laughton are what embodies skill

Had a buddy who messaged me Thursday asking "is Laughton any good or did you guys just fleece us".I think this was a fair response:

Lol.

He is wildly overrated by old school hockey people. He is a better LWer than C for sure.

When he plays with better players, he can usually produce. But he can't carry a line...even if it’s the 3rd or 4th line.

He has been a reliable pker and is a threat to score shorthanded.

People who love Torts and his archaic thinking, love Laughton. People like myself am glad he is gone so Torts can't overplay him.

Just think, the Flyers gave him a heart felt send off while Giroux got nothing. They didn't even acknowledge when Giroux got his 1000 point. And that's why the Flyers suck....stuck in past.

Laughton hasn't played in a pressure situation in many years. That's why he wanted to remain a Flyer. Easy peasy coming to the ice for a team with no expectations ever. Now he's gotta deal with Toronto pressure and remembering how to play Center, for which he's always been mediocre at. Treliving did not do his homework on Laughton. If Berube moves him to LW, he'll be fine.

Flyers legacy mindset has them always protecting their "meat & potatoes" guys...somewhere along the line, the "meat" they were protecting became spam and the management went "potatoes".
