Scoring Prediction. Has scoring plateaued? Is it going to rise?

Last year we saw 3.11 Goals per game. Over the last 5 years excluding the incomplete covid season the mean goals per game was 3.092. In the 5 seasons before that it was 2.653, a fairly significant jump.

Will scoring continue to rise? Fall? or is it going stay around this level for awhile?
