Schenn hit on Scheifele

I didn't have a problem with the hit. Just like I didn't have a problem with the Schenn hit. Scheifele touched the puck as well. Either both plays are a penalty for interference or neither are. That was my point.
Well in that I agree. In real time, I thought both hits were technically clean by the book. In slo-mo you could call Schenn for charging because his feet left the ice after contact and on Stanley, there appears there’s likely some head contact. Might just be “Pronger physics” as he’s just that much bigger than Kyrou but whatever. Big hits are what the playoffs are about. Keep your head up, boys.

My guess is the refs didn’t see Scheifele play the puck. Or they were influenced by the crowd. If the Stanley on Kyrou hit happens in STL, maybe something would’ve been called. It’s simply human nature that the refs are slightly influenced by the crowd. Historically, the away team gets about 53-55% of the penalties. Main explanation would be crowd noise ever so slightly tipping the scales in favor of the home team.

You are free to your opinion, I don't agree, It was a clear charge from the blind side and we saw that Tampa guy get suspended on interference hit where there was no head contact. Head contact isn't a requirement for discipline.
Barkov never touched the puck but Scheifele did. But you’re free to believe what you want to as well.

You’re right, it’s extremely close. I don’t blame you and other jets fans for watching in real time and freaking out about the hit and I don’t blame the refs for calling a penalty in real time. But I do think it’s a clean hit and I think it’s important to push back on some of the takes in this thread. People calling for suspensions or saying it’s the worst hit of the playoffs are completely out to lunch.

Also, don’t want to come off as an internet tough guy - I am not a tough guy in real life and I don’t play one on the internet…but Scheifele has got to be more aware of what’s happening on the ice. He plays the puck and is eligible to be hit there. The Blues have clearly made a point of hitting him whenever they can. How was he not more ready for a hit?

A few things:

- None of my posts were freaking out in the least, actually they were all very calm and more questioning the hit.

- Neither I nor the Jets have called for a suspension, at least the Jets publicly haven’t so no reason to assume.

- Part that I didn’t like about live was the refs didn’t even bother to check to do a review to make sure they got it right and it was so close no one can say live if that was 100% no jump there beforehand as you image showed we’re talking maybe 1/100th of a second difference. So why not check to make sure right? Leaving it to chance makes no sense and that’s what the Jets coach said, they should have checked it.

- Regarding Mark, your right Blues have clearly went out of their way to aggressively hit and take Mark out (not saying intentionally injuring that’s different) every game. Mark should be more aware, Blues are hunting out there for him every shift. I’m not happy with many players on the Jets this series but that’s a different subject I’ll talk on the Jets board after the season is over. Clearly Lowry must be playing with a serious injury bc he would of normally ended Scheen running around like that in game 1 or 2, speculation is is Lowry has a reoccurring shoulder injury going on now so we’ll see later on when we hear the truth. But others like Stanley and our Scheen (brother or not he needs to step up or gtfo) should be stepping up and they haven’t so lots of blame to go around.

- I won’t even talk about Helle.

- If Mark doesn’t return this series it’s over bc can’t win with no 1C, and two top six scoring forwards out also (gabe returned game 5 but too little too late) and Ehlers isn’t back in this series. Can’t win without so many top six guys out and goalie playing bad.

- reported league won’t be giving any additional discipline so it’s all done with now league wise so moot subject now. Now just the Jets have to deal with the repercussions of it

That’s just not true.

Regardless if it was before impact or a split half second later, it was a jump into the hit and not the hit's momentum causing him to leave his feet. It's a penalty. 2 minutes though, no more.

No league additional discipline so we can move the chat to the series thread like other similar discussions.
